A farmer in the French country-side is driving around in his tractor. Passing by the neighbor's field he notices two people having sex.
He stops curious and horny to watch in more details. But then, he notices something so terrifying, he has to look away and ponder what he saw.
Still undecided as to what he really saw, he decides to bring in the Gendarme of the village. The gendarme comes over to the field and also watches
trying to recognize what is happening. The gendarme is shocked and yells to the farmer: "That's just not possible!"
They both however agree how it looks like. They both think this man is having sex with a corpse!
They decide to ask the major, an old man who has seen it all. The major comes and looks over to the scene and is really shocked.
"In all my years I have never seen such a horrible thing. Let us arrest this man, but first bring the doctor to diagnose the death officially"
The doctor sees the three men look as if they had seen a ghost. He is very worried and simply follows them. On the way he is briefed on what has happened.
The doctor arrives on site and just laughs very loud. He explains to the gentlemen that the scene is different than they thought it was.
"Guys! She is not dead! She is british!"

I avoid telling the above joke since it seems to be a half-valid defense in the U.K. Recently a bloke was charged for murder and rape. His original defense was that he just thought she was drunk and sleeping in the street. He said he believed she must have been dead before he got to her, while acknowledging he did have sex with her without consent.

Just to be clear, new witnesses revelations show he was probably not only the rapist but also the murderer. But just the fact that the defense was accepted so long in court for me is terrifying and making my joke look less unlikely.
