OMG, 4 clients were also arrested

The arrest of 4 clients was another operation in Yau Ma Tei about the street walkers. The clients violated Cap. 200 Crimes Ordinance ─ Section 147 Soliciting for an immoral purpose.

Does it mean they were acting as agents?

73 women arrested is a lot of girls.  Does that mean JSL is cleaned out like Hop Yee?  Hop Yee got raided like a month ago and is basically shut down except for a few older longtimers.  I checked two days ago and it was still dead.

The only two large building left may be Hing King and Fuji at this point if JSL is gone.

JSL is still back in action. Went there this evening to take a look and seems most girls are back at work however less punters, maybe word got around so bros are avoiding this one for a few days or just a quiet period.

It seems the authorities have given many warnings to the property owners about renting out their apartments for vice

Another discussion mentioned the local authorities are using the same tactics as mainland counterparts by smashing doors down to catch the people and pressure from mainland big brother since over there prostitution is illegal.

The Chinese girls I've seen at JSL and Phoenix were pretty clearly running their own business, which is legal in HK, as I understand it. Whereas the Thai girl I saw at JSL recently was checking in with her boss at the start and end which I understand makes the operation illegal (and she would have been there as a tourist, so was also illegal for that reason).  I particulary noticed the checkins as it made my negotiation to spend a bit more time (and money) to start with a massage more complicated: "We might not have time" she said - presumably gets in trouble if the turnaround is too slow.

Whereas the local Chinese girl I saw earlier was happy to do a massage for an extra few hundred HKD (and, surprisingly, was actually very good at it...).

Not sure how the police decide who to raid, but  since it's not too hard for a punter like me to figure out who is local, I presume it's pretty easy for them...

According to the dimsum reports girls were visa and permit violations. I.e. working with wrong paperwork.

I spoke to one of the Thai girls in JSL and she said her deal was, she had to do 30 sessions to cover her flight and lodging, and then she starts making money.  I dunno what the split is after she hits the 30 sessions.

She was there only two full work days and had 6 sessions so was doing only 3 per day.  This was Monday/Tuesday so hopefully things picked up for her towards the end of the week.  Otherwise, she might not make much money since she was only staying for 14 days.

Tough gig.

My Cantonese is only soso, but I know enough to get the gist.

Video claims that the reason the clients were arrested was because they were asking for prices, services, add-ons etc. He claims that asking for services, prices is against HK law.

All of what he says just seems to be conjecture though and I don't think he actually knows anything useful.

More "official" sources don't mention clients being arrested at all, I wouldn't be surprised if this was all just fear mongering. I am still pretty worried though.

I was planning on losing my vcard here, but I might go to Japan and do it there. One of the girls I was eyeing up was gone after the raid which is pretty sad.

The title of the video asks why four clients were arrested, but he spends most of his time explaining what goes on in places like JSL and the fact that landlords have been ignoring the police's request to stop renting out their premises for immoral purposes.
His answer to the question is consistent with that posted by alex_french above, namely that the clients solicited for an immoral purpose by inquiring about the price/options.

I snooped around a bit earlier this week and seems like it is all back to normal now. Feels like there is slightly less people than usual but other than that, I didn't notice a difference.
