BTW, I came back to Hong Kong via the airport last night and asked for you the matter about the luggage if one takes the transfer ferry to Macau/China at the airport; you just give them your luggage stub when you buy the ferry ticket (prior to clearing Hong Kong Immigration and custom) and they will collect your luggage for you 'outside' and put them back on the ferry.

So no, you do NOT need to worry about your luggage at Orly and just check it in to Hong Kong in September

I was at HK airport, and I noticed this sign.  This sign is before ( prior ) you get to customs / immagration.  

It reads, " Please confirm checked baggage status with the ferry ticket reader before proceeding to the gate".

The ferry company can transfer your bags from your flight onto the ferry for you.  It looks like ferrys go to two different places in Macau.

I thought about taking the ferry to Macau at the airport a few time.  If I took the ferry at the airport, I would save on the bus or transportation fee to the ferry terminal.  

On the other hand, I usually take the express bus to the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal, where I could buy the tour package. It covers the round trip to Macau and HK to a sauna.  I believe I save more money this way.

Yes, the airport to Macau ferry tickets costs HK$215 whilst if you buy a "package" from the Shun Tak Center in Central, you will get free roundtrip tickets to and from Macau.

On the other hand, if time is at a premium, this may still be worthwhile as the direct from airport ferry ride is only 50 minutes vs at least an hour by bus (+-HK$40) to ShunTak, wait time there for the ferry ride which will take another hour; if you opt for the airport express train to Central, that is HK$150 (?) and lugging the luggage from the Central terminus to the ShunTak centre

My own observation had been that guys here usually post up reports, get involved in discussions, contribute knowledge and naturally gets up in the ranks; others read these contributions to the forum...and learn a bit about what to expect of the poster in real life and if he thinks that the poster is gonna be a "good guy" to meet, will then send PM's to arrange for a meet-up etc.
