The bigger problem is if the tutor isnt an attractive girl, I am not interested in listening to them... if they are an attractive girl, I am more interested in fucking them...  Rock and a hard place so to speak...

As for tones... I understand how they work, but I have no idea how people actually hear any tones when someone else talks.  I strongly believe they barely listen and just rely on context to understand whats going on.

this will be my second trip to the region, the first was embarrassingly short..and i will likely stay longer in this trip so i had been having some basic questions regarding the life in macau and living cost etc.

How much does alcohol cost?(beer & vodka prices would suffice but any other addition will just be icing on the cake :p )
How is the internet and cell phone services in macau & what the usual good carrier/ISP and its average cost?
and it would be real great if someone could mention how much $ may get spent on living expenses for a month, i will be staying for longer than a few months.

Yup - You're 100% correct... I don't know any of the requeste4d for questions as I have never lived in Macau.

But just from a general observation, the DIFFERENCES between Hi-living and Lower-living in most parts of Asia is quite drastic;  much more so than in the Western, 1st world, homogenized countries.  There, "Middle class" is the norm.

Thus in Macau your cost of living very much will depend on the standard of the living you want to maintain.  We've got guys in Macau who supports and feed whole families for under MOP 6,000 and then there are those who can blow hundred times that amount on one turn of a card.

Just an alternative that you may want to consider if you want a yet lower cost of living - why not actually homestead in Zhuhai where everything is much much cheaper.  Macau is just a 10 minute stroll (if the borders are not jammed) across the border.

Meanwhile - how about some input from those here who ARE living in Macau. Thanks!

Guys - although most of you guys probably already know this, I on the other hand just found a neat little time-saver trick for this forum.  That if you click on "Printable Version" found next to the title of @ thread,  a very easy to read AND continuous (you don't need to go page to page) version of the thrread WITHOUT the Avatars, ratings, Gaudy signature (like mine worst and foremost) and other exteraneous junk appears.  All the posts AND pictures will still appear.

Thanks for the rates and travel times.  With regards to MOP (I assume that's Macau's currency,) can we use HKD instead or is it advisable to change HKD to MOP when I arrive?  Does the stores? Taxis? Spas accept HKD?

Unless you are going to be a quite long staying visitor to Macau, do NOT change into Macau Patacas as HK$ is widely used everywhere and actually prefered.

If OTH you are long staying, the MOP is worth a few percentage Less than the HK$ and you can save such %age by paying with MOP's

For me, if the picture of the girl looks too perfect i know it has been tampered with, ie flawless skins or skin colour dont really match or face too cute! What's your trick of spotting one?

Yes, that is a spectacular show - especially if you've never seen a Cirque de Soleil production.

And since I always think that my family must come first, IMHO, yes, you must bring your family to see it, given the fact that GENERALLY there's not much else to do for the Missus and kids to do in Macau.  Just aobut everything there caters to the needs of the male of the species! LOL!

As far as your pctures are concerned - I don't THINK they're too big. I'm not sure as I usually see the KB's of JPG pictures accompanying such - and yours don't have that.  Anyway, it appears fast and does NOT make the page flicker - so I GUESS its small enough!

I tend to like bigger size picture. Better quality and better looking too! For the pricing, i'm not sure how many shots are allowed. But for me not much difference anyway, one shot 30 mins its pretty norm!

I have actually checked with my retained China lawyer this very question - and the reply is that a closed Hotel room is actually a public place and that the LE have EVERY right to enter ANY hotel rooms in China. Then in all seriousness he also told me that the Toilet in the hotel room is NOT public place - and thus the LE is NOT entitled to enter such.....as if that makes much of a difference. LOL!

And as far as the oft repeated refrain of a lot of Furreners here - that the LE is NOT gonna bother with you as its too much trouble to "process" you guys - well, let me give you this li'l chestnut:

THAT.... is a VERY good question - and I do wish that I do have the definitive answer to this question.

You see, things changes very rapidly in China - and whatever was supposedly "safe" one day, could very well be the most dangerous thing to do the next - again, on THEIR theory to make a big show of crack-downs and thus scaring off everybody....what better way to scare off people than by cracking down on the supposed safest?

OK - ONLY my analysis - but it SEEMS to me that the authorities are following the example of most other countries and LIMITING the needed "yellow activities" to certain "designated places" whilst cleaning up areas with "name recognition" for proper activities.  Beijing for Goverment, Shanghai for Business, Shenzhen/Guangzhou for the number of Foreigners doing business, Guilin for tourists etc etc.

And as far as I THINK - Dongguan - specifically Chang Ping - SEEMS to have been spared the worst excesses of the "Strike Hard" campaigns happening all over and with increasing frequency etc.  In fact, More and more "facilities" are sprouting up here - and these are not just fly by night operations - they are multi million $$ investments into huge 5 Star hotels, Luxe Stand alone KTV's and discos etc etc.

So, that's the reason why I still limit my punting to the CP area and surrounds. But I could be and probably am wrong....but wellllll.... what's a horny guy going to do???
