Patong / Phuket might be worth a try. I went there for a few days last year and there’s certainly options but BKK or Pattaya it ain’t. Does have beaches for chilling during the day and Bangla Road is lively enough for nightlife. Is expensive though.

Thailand is one of those rare countries where the foreign currency exchange booths at the airports don't rip you off. My favourite one is Superrich in the Basement Level - the same level where you go to take the Airport Rail Link. The rates at this Superrich are the best but really the difference between them and every other forex booth is only a couple of cents. Exchanging at the airport just makes it convenient as you'll have cash on hand before you head into the city. But there are forex booths in a lot of the large malls and again the exchange rates between most of them are negligible.

Random comment... "Baht" is one of those nouns that's the same both singular and plural. Other examples of this would be deer, Chinese and aircraft. Bahts would be incorrect. It's just baht. Not bath. It's baht.

One is called goddess and it’s in an alley across from the arcade. Beers r more expensive starting at 180b, but LD is 220 and BF is 1k. ST is 3k. I assume LT is 5k+. The funny thing about this place is they have a sign saying 100% real girls and 100% no rip off. The bars at Queen's Park Plaza on Sukhumvit Soi 22 have relocated to the new bar area on Sukhumvit Soi 7. Mind you that Queen's Park Plaza was known for bars having like 50% ladyboys if that's your thing.

Is the Patpong area worth visiting? In all my trips I've never been there. I’ve done it with moderate success. Pros are that rates are lower like 2000 ST and photos are less fake. Cons are that it takes more time than you think because every girl is chatting with a hundred guys just like you and the photos are still fake in that best angles only and taken a few years ago way.

I personally don’t think it’s worth the time if you’re in Thailand for a limited time.

Thais use Line a lot and as well WeChat to a fair extent, both have a function like "whose nearby" you get lots of hits for freelancers (more so for WeChat) around major centres/cities of Thailand.  Try that though TF is very popular!
