Thanks for the heads up. Fantastic thread.

An important note is most of the references for percentages for STD are usually only talking about HIV.

This is fine for people who just want to avoid the biggies.

As we know, Gonnorhea and Herpes are far more prevelent and can be caught by oral sex or DFK.

If you're having a girl on the side, this means that even if you dont intercourse, oral/dfk can catch you STD and then your partner will know youve been fooling around. Yes they can be cured, but you will still probably be caught out!

As always its a matter of risk vs reward.

gotta to say after reading this. I am just gonna stick with CBJ from now on, I wouldn't even take the chance for BBBJ no matter how much I am in to it.

Just got my test results AND THANK GOD NOTHING..... and the first thing I did, wen to Eva in WanChai and got  CBJ.

I know this is an old post, put I have to take Marsupial's side here.
Anyone who understands statistics will see that he is absolutely right and he is not advocating going bareback.

This thread was quite helpful to me. My question is what substance or fluid from a body can transmit STD?

The calculations go both ways

Yes it is correct to multiply 1,000 and 1,000 to get a one in a million.  But that is for one single visit.  If you visit a second girl, your odds drop down to half a million.  And so on, and so on until that one visit where you get unlucky.

But hey, buy a lottery ticket each time, and maybe you'll be rich and dead.

What I would be interested in finding out are the odds of getting the drip from one bbbj?  Anyone know?

OK I answered my own question.

Great resource from a public nurse website:

I never knew the chances to get HIV were so low. I guess I got scared by all the media talking about how dangerous it is and such, but always remember to be safe!

Actually the calculations don't go both ways. As you say yourself they are the odds per visit and that fact stays true eachand every time. If you had 10 visits and came away clean each time, the odds on catching something on your 11th visit are the same as they were on your first.

Of course the more visits you have the more chances you get (like buying more tickets gor the lottery) but each ticket has the same chance of winning regardless of how many tickets you have bought in the past.

My biggest worry is syphillis because supposedly there may be NO SYMPTOMS while it's dormant and then you go crazy and you die.

I went to a free STD testing session once and asked for a syphillis test... And they said they doubt I needed it, that there hasn't been a case in like 10 years and it was some gays.  If I actually have syphillis I should probably sue for millions for malpractice...

If you had syphilis, you be too mad to sue and by the time it made sense, you'd be dead.

I do live under the wrong view that if I did get STD, I would just press my balls till I choked to death... if that is in fact possible

Btw, screw the  calculator,... once you get it the odds ain't gonna help you feel better.

Depends on the STD. Some require blood and/or seminal fluid, others it's just skin on skin contact (which basically means no sex)

Newbie here. There seems to be a lot of conversation about HIV and none of the other STDs. Remarkably, HIV/antiviral specific drugs have advanced so much that HIV has become more of a chronic disease rather than the killer it once was. Not to say that it isn't still dangerous, but it's still important to remember some of the other biggies:

Herpes -
- no cure, no real treatment, may cause birth defects in offspring, only way to avoid is NOT HAVING SEX
http://www.cdc.gov/STD/herpes/STDFact-Herpes.htm

HPV -
- no cure (some vaccines available but nothing definitive for men), may cause certain cancers in women, no real visible symptoms so tough to diagnose especially in men, skin on skin contact is all that's required to transmit, and again this means NOT HAVING SEX

Hepatitis C
-
- no vaccine, but thankfully not as easily transmitted than the above (requires blood and/or sexual fluids)

Thankfully, most of the other more common STDs can be treated and diagnosed quickly, so remember to get tested regularly guys if you are punting. Happy hunting

Auditing function

Just wanted to add a line on Mr. Mar's side as I think that Mr.Mars is doing us a great job of helping us audit information that gets posted onto this forum.

How it was delivered to the public and assessment of the reading public may need to be better considered and may take some scrutiny (for all we know, there are less educated ppl there out there..)

but, nothing is perfect and thats why Jake made his comments (another great functions which keeps the quality of this forum)

Long story short, irrelevant of what the contents of this thread was about, what Mr. Mar is did at this thread is important and necessary to keep this forum credible.

(Apart from my comment, I think the thread is very informative, and for my peace of mind, no more BBBJ for me no more)

I'm still freaked out because I caught chlamydia.  I will never again BBBJ and I am sure I caught it from a KTV girl in CP.  Girls are much cleaner in HK walkups and SN than their China counterpart

Noobie here. wanna get some safety advice before action

nothing is 100% but just taking precautions (quoting several others) like anti-bacterial wipes, not 'touching' her and then yourself (depending on the virus this is/is not an issue as some can't live outside the body but some can - I'm not sure about herpes so better safe than sorry), keeping everything covered. Theres always a risk but theres a risk crossing the road - its about minimising that risk as effectively as possible.

Either that or abstinence....... it depends on which scares you more!
