I always figured with the number of people that travel between HK and Canada, along with expats and what not, there would be some demand for facilities.

But if we even increase to geography to just China, not all of Asia. I would think in the northern regions such as Harbin, you find a ice hockey rink.

Back to the Play-Offs

Okie - back from the HK / Asia ice-rink discussion to the NHL play-offs

The Canucks get the opening game against - not really a surprise.
However the nice surprise of this morning is that Tampa Bay steals game one from the Caps. Still do NOT like the Caps....

I wouldn't say Tampa "stole" a game from the caps...

Tampa is so much stronger now since it's downfall from it's last cup run.... st.louis should be winning the Hart and Vinny is finally starting to be Vinny again.

Stamkos is warming up to the playoffs... and Roloson hasn't aged one bit it appears.

The caps are playing more defensive hockey ever since it's falter last season and I think they are trying to contain more than trying to set the tone of the game - this is going to come back and haunt them.

Tampa in 6.

Ah it's a crapshoot for the Tampa/Washington series, as easily as Tampa is up 2-0, it can turn just as easily.

If Rollie the goalie keeps playing well, it could be a short series. But when he implodes, well the tide would turn very quickly.

i remember when i went to a movie theater to see i forget which movie oh it was TANGLED i think and there kids playing ice hockey inside the mall. i thought it was pretty cool. hk is warm year round and they are able to install that rink is pretty interesting. i have to say though hockey is not a cheap sport compared to the big 4. skates, jerseys, gloves all those things can add up to big bucks.

i saw the red wings lose again 2-1 to the sharks. i didn't expect much from the wings cause they are the 3 seed if they were the 2nd seed then i would have hope. the sharks will get em. the sharks are younger seem more motivated. i think barry melrose said it best after 3 years of coaching one team the players don't listen anymore. mike babcock, killer name, is a great coach but i think the wings are too old and beginning not to care.

i think the wings should apologize to jimmy howard. they are giving him no support. last year he was terrible but ya know what he was a rookie. i feel bad for jimmy how can he win a game when the wings only average one fucking goal per game. jimmy i respect and love you and i'm sorry you are not getting any offensive support.

probably the biggest shock are the tb lightning. where do these ppl come from. upset the mighty pens and are up 2-0 on the caps. the next 2 games are in florida. oh boy talk about an underdog team on a tear. insane thing i can't think of one player on the lightning.

i can't recall the wings winning a series being down 2-0. after they get knocked out i'll just focus on my lakers. looking to next year what will the red wings be like???

Cavey, I think you have a point on the Wings offensive power in Rounds 2 - Agaist the Yotes they scored an average of 4+ goals per game but also conceeded more than two per game in average. Now they meet a better defense that makes it more difficult to score... althoughZ-Man and Datsyuk haven't stepped up their game so far...even given the fact that Zetterberg scored a goal in Game 2 if I remember correctly..

Talking about goaltending... what the heck happens at Philly and Washington? Neuvirth in the Cap's goal seems to pay the price of a play-off rookie while the Flyers seem to favour roulette. Boucher, Borbkovsky (hard to spell) and Leighton...neither one seems to be up tobe the decisive factor in play-off game.
On the other hand Rinne, Luongo and Tim Thomas prove that a goalie can make a difference

I'm a sharks fan and am pretty shocked they're up 3-0 again on the redwings and are now 5-0 in OT during the 2011 playoffs. hope they can close it out!  Datsuk scares me every time he touches the puck.

Pretty interesting:

5/4/2010 - sharks beat redwings 4-3 in OT
5/4/2011 - sharks beat redwings 4-3 in OT

Don't know about HK but in Vegas last year I watched some of the finals in the sports betting area of the MGM. Huge screen and nutso crowd

GO SHARKS!!!

That's quite the coincidence that you've pointed out, gamer!  I'm just glad San Jose was able to pull off the win.  Stanley Cup, here we come!

Tampa sweep was a great thing to see!
I hate the capitals with a passion.

Thank you st louis.

Nashville will give vancouver a run for their money but they wont beat them.

Looks like Nashville is done after tonights game. If they want to make a game out of game 5, they need to learn to shoot the puck.

Looking like a third round match up between Sharks and Nucks.

The wings get back to scoring 4 goals in one game and they clinch their first in the series - will they get back from 0-3? Nope, I don't think so.

Both the Bruins and the Bolts can take some rest before going into the conference finals - my pick would be the Bruins - who is yours?

Ohh I can't wait

the canucks vs san jose will be an awesome series!

I hope Boston and Tampa go all 7.

Tampa is really turning it up and I'm sure Claude Julian is watching videos of Bergenheim to shut him down.  he has been on fire.

Tampa has the hot goaltending so it will be tough but I am sure the series will be crazy awesome.

Enjoy the games!

Hopefully Vancouver can close it out tonight. I'm thinking 6-1 blowout. Detroit will hopefully keep their series going for a while longer.

Gotta hand it to Van City, they are finding a way even they haven't looked nearly as they did during the reg season.

Really been impressed with Kesler, PITA player when you're on the other team.

I think we have seen how much the Canucks are missing Manny Malhotra. If he was still playing they wouldn't need Kesler to play a defensive role and would
give the Canucks 2 offensive lines. They're doing well but the real test will come the next round. I think they will find a way!!!!!
