This is the first generation of phones for Microsoft. They need to catch up. But I still like where Microsoft is going. I am sure all the features it is lacking will show up soon on the next versions. It is only a matter of time.....

the problem of Microsoft is that they are not doing too well except OS, office and x-box. so i am afraid if i bought MS phone, it would no support very very soon.

There should be lots of room in the market for a good product.    Angelina came on the scene pretty fast and grabbed alot of market share.  Lots of features still missing from phones--what about having two or more numbers so you can have a work and business number on your phone.  Or switching call from you land line to your mobile when you go out.

Study says iPhone 4 design fine -- unless you drop it
October 14, 2010 - 8:05AM

A firm that sells warranties for gadgets said Wednesday that Apple's latest generation smartphone is nearly twice as likely as its predecessor to crack in a accident.
SquareTrade analyzed mishaps involving more than 20,000 iPhone 4 models and found that screens broke 82 percent more often than was the case with the iPhone 3G.
"With just 4 months of data, it's clear that the iPhone 4 is significantly more prone to physical damage than its predecessor," SquareTrade said in a summary of its findings.

"Despite this troubling increase... overall, the iPhone is still a very well constructed device, with a non-accident malfunction rate much lower than most other consumer electronics," it said.
Cracked or broken screens accounted for the vast majority of damage to iPhone 4 handsets, according to SquareTrade. The newest iPhone has glass on the front and the back, doubling the "scratchable surface," the firm noted.
The reported accident rate for iPhone 4 devices was 68 percent higher than the rate for iPhone 3G models.
TradeSquare estimated that approximately 15.5 percent of iPhone 4 owners will have accidents with the gadgets before they are a year old.
TradeSquare based its findings on details of more than 20,000 iPhone 4 accidents reported by people with care plans sold by the company. Apple released the iPhone 4 in June.

Hack into the Iphone

Security Breach......If you have OS 4.1 it has a security breach. OS 4.2 will fix the problem.  Other personal information can be gather also.

---------------------------------------

It looks like the iPhone lock screen provides just a marginal level of protection. There is a key combination that opens the contact app on a locked iPhone. Just tap the emergency call button, enter the pound sign three times (###), then tap call and immediately tap the lock key on the top of the phone. If this is confusing just look at the video after the break to see how it’s done.

You don’t get access to everything on the device. But this does give an attacker access to all of your contact data and allows that person to make any calls they desire.

White iPhone 4 Delayed Until Spring 2011

Apple confirmed Wednesday that the long-awaited white iPhone 4 won’t be available until spring.

“We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone yet again, but we’ve decided to delay its release until this spring,” said Apple spokeswoman Trudy Miller.

Apple had previously stated that the white iPhone 4 would “not be available until later this year.” This latest statement comes one day after we reported that the white version of the iPhone 4 had appeared in the Apple Store.

iPhone is great right out of the box, everything is where it should be and is ultra functional, with android YOU have to be very tech savvy to customize it to get more out of it than an IPhone.

contrary to that, this is not the 1st generation for Microsoft. They had Windows Phones in the early nineties, those made by O2, and they've had Windows Mobile since then. thecurrent version is 6.5, before this Win Phone 7 launch

Another bug with the Iphone 4. I just saw on the on the News, the Iphone will not change the time automatic when Day light Saving Time is effective in the USA.  In the USA, the time is turn back 1 hour in the fall and 1 hour forward in the summer. You will have to turn the clock manually to change the time.  The old 3G and 3GS didn't have this problem.

I bought the iphone the day it was released.  I would say that the reception was just ok until I put a case on it.  Since then it has been quite good.  I have dropped a couple of calls here and there but that is with every phone.  I think the camera and the video capabilities are just fantastic.
As for the problems with day light savings time, I had no problems with it changing the clock over.

Curious whether the case works.  Have not tried it since did not really have a reception or dropped call problem.  Lately that is changing as many many dropped calls.  Doyou think it makes a real difference. Followied the hoopla originally about the antenna.  That seems to have totally dropped out of the news.  Is it te case?
