I completely agree with you.

I must say hollywood is turning into potty wood.

ever since they have had problems with the writers guild hollywood is trying to create things on the cheap.

it is quite evident in today's programming

my god: real world, survivor, amazing race, biggest loser and so on

it is cheaper to pay some no name 200,000 usd for winning then paying for quality actors and writers.

I really hate how the 80's is being butchered. I grew up in the 70's and 80's

Fuck this terrible remake of an 80 classic: GI JOE

the a-team and the new karate kid will fail with my generation.

i'm really afraid that the younger generations of today have gotten lazier due to apathy and technology.

back in my day we didn't have computer and maids do things for us, we sat down with pen and paper got to work.

the quality of entertainment today isn't even worth one fucking cent so keep on buying pirated DVD's fellas

Saw Toy Story 3, in 3D, with my wife and kids today.  I thought it was great!  We went to see TS 1 and 2 when they were re-released in 3D recently, and were reminded how good they had been, as well.  You don't need to be a kid to enjoy it, I think...

But I agree that the 3D doesn't add much to it.  I find the glasses uncomfortable, sitting over my normal glasses, and I can do without it.  Except for Avatar.  That was special.

Agreed about you story. You don't need the 3d. For the original movie back in the day the whole special effects thing was enough to male you go wow.  Not sure 3d is going to make it. It has always been viewed as a hastle to don the special glasses. Mostpeople do find it annoying.

I went to see Grown Ups this weekend and wow they movie was better then what I expected it to be. The movie with the all star comedy cast was actually pretty funny, and with a few hotties throw into the movie it only made it better. If your looking to see a decent comedy this summer then Grown Ups is a must see.

Wonder Woman ditches hot pants for more modern look

Movie writer changes hero's direction
She is to wear leggings, denim jacket
New comics to highlight her intellect
SORRY supervillains - Wonder Woman will no longer be fighting crime in hot pants.

The comic book superhero portrayed by Lynda Carter in the classic TV series is to take a new direction, the first in almost 70 years.

Gone are the beachwear bottoms, red bustier with matching go-go boots and clunky gold cuffs. In comes dark blue leggings, a studded denim jacket and a pair of gilded biker gloves that would make a Hell's Angel jealous.

The changes are the brainchild of Oscar-nominated writer J. Michael Straczynski, who has been hired by publishers DC Comics to refresh the hero.

Straczynski, who wrote the Angelina Jolie film The Changeling. and scripts for Murder She Wrote, said that he had "always had an affinity for strong, capable, intelligent female characters," but disliked a lack of depth in the Wonder Woman comics.

"Growing up, I always felt that she was a better character than her books," he said.

"The stories tended toward being a bit precious, and definitely edged into being more about getting her into provocative poses than really getting into her character."

While the most important issue for Straczynski is adding a meatier backstory and highlighting Wonder Woman's intellect, the real buzz was over her new look.

"Her look was almost identical to what it was in 1941. Other characters have changed and evolved ... and female friends of mine kept asking, 'How does she fight in that thing without all her parts flying out? How does she carry her stuff?" he said.

Wonderful history

Wonder Woman was created by the inventor of the polygraph test, William Marston.

He recognised the great educational potential of comic books but, struck by the amount of testerone swilling around the pages of adventure serials, wanted to create a new kind of superhero, one that who could triumph not with fists or firepower. but love.

His wife, Elizabeth, persuaded him to make his hero a woman, and thus Wonder Woman was born.

The character made her debut in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941) and was soon a hit.

Although she was supposed to be empowering, she did spend a fair amount of her time, rather kinkily, tied to chairs.

Making a re-hash of movies
July 2, 2010
Inception is a big-budget gamble that bucks Hollywood's reliance on sequels and remakes, writes Donna Walker-Mitchell.
There's a new buzzword in Hollywood: sequelitis.
Hollywood studios have opted for the safe route in 2010, largely ignoring fresh ideas and original scripts by churning out big-budget sequels or films based on comics, mothballed TV shows or video games.
Midway into the all-important US summer box-office period, the strategy appears to have backfired, with summer revenues down 5 per cent to $US1.7 billion ($2 billion) compared with the same period last year.
Instead of creating risk-free hits with already built-in audiences, filmmakers seem to have failed to impress audiences.
Sequelitis, anyone?
Shrek Forever After and Sex and the City 2 were disappointing. The A-Team, a big-screen reboot of the 1980s TV series, was also below expectations, while the Megan Fox-Josh Brolin effort, Jonah Hex, based on a comic book, was a disaster, earning only $US9.1 million in its first two weeks in the US and Canada. The video game-inspired Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time also underwhelmed.
In coming months, familiar titles will hit cinemas: Predators, Marmaduke, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Step Up 3D, Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore and Nanny McPhee Returns.
Allowing for ticket-price inflation, the US's Memorial Day weekend, traditionally one of the year's biggest weekends at the box office, had the lowest total number of tickets sold in 17 years.
All of which has critics rightly asking: does Hollywood have any original ideas left?

Haven't I seen you somewhere before?

Predators
Starring Adrien Brody, Topher Grace and Laurence Fishburne, this joins previous films Predator (1987) and Predator 2 (1990). In Predators, Brody's character Royce is abducted by an alien and released on to an alien planet with seven other humans. In time for the film's US theatrical release in July, a video game for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad will be also be available.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
The infamous Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) returns 23 years after he first proclaimed that "greed is good". The film sequel is directed by Oliver Stone and Douglas said he would only return for the remake if he loved the script. Shia LaBeouf also stars as a young proprietary trader.

The Karate Kid
A remake of the 1984 film, this reboot stars Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. The theatrical trailer in the US had the song You're the Best playing in the background, the same song as in the original. A success at the box office, The Karate Kid has made $US129 million ($148 million) and counting.

A Nightmare on Elm Street
A remake of the 1984 movie, this slasher stars Jackie Earle Haley, who reprises Robert Englund's best-known role as the disfigured Freddy Krueger (left), who murders victims while they are dreaming. Wes Craven, who created the original franchise, said he was disappointed there was a remake and that he was not approached to be a consultant on the film.

The A-Team
Costing $US110 million, this action film based on the 1980s TV show stars Jessica Biel, as well as Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson. Respected US critic Roger Ebert described the film as "an incomprehensible mess".

i saw the last airbender a few days ago and it was disappointing. the graphics were nice, but the story seemed rushed even though at the end they made it seem like there was going to be at least 2 more sequels in this series. another big thing about the movie was the terrible acting, i could probably act better then them. don't waste your time unless you have time to waste then go ahead and watch this movie. i might go see predator today, so i'll tell you guys how it goes.

Airbender, another cartoon to make it into a real life movie. It can a real hit or miss on those types.

it sucks to see something good turn into something bad. i like dragonball cartoon and street fighter games when i was a kid, but they completely murder its image with the stupid movies hollywood makes. i can make a long list of movies that went bad, but that's for another day.

The selectio overall this summer seems pretty weak. Grown ups was really not very good.  Eve the cast members who are all terrific did not seem to click.  Each guys has had great movies but in this one even chris rock was just not that funny.  That goes for all of them
