big and buff are totally different than big and fat. Muscle weighs more than fat so you can have someone who is tone and be the same weight as someone who is fat assuming they are the same height.
You're right. That's exactly what I think. That's why I told my doctor I didn't want to loose any weight when I was 98 kg. I was even trying to go up to 105 kg just to see what I will look like.
As I said before, my doctor was stunned to see I was weighing so much. Indeed, like you said, there's a difference between buff and fat. She knew beforehand that I was going regurlary to the gym. As I had an athletic figure she couldn't guess I was that heavy and that's reason she was surprised and panicked when she saw my weight.
My point is, like so many people this doctor paid heed only to the digits she saw on the scale. She urged me to loose weight without even taking into account I was not fat and was working out on regular basis. My visit wasn't for a problem due to weight. Why someone should absolutely loose weight when they feel in good shape and like themselves the way they are ?
IMHO, there's a weight obsession that is hammered to people these days in our western countries. Its no wonder some female teenagers endanger their life by getting anorexic when being obsessed to look like some skinny fashion models. On the other hand, many women who are just plump get too anxious because they undergo this dictatorship of slimness which leads them into trying some rubbish diets wich get them even fatter, as a side effect. Thus increasing their anxiety, stress and sometimes lead to severe depression.
