Hong Kong Airlines flies out of Suvarnbhumi good cheaper fares if flying between midnight and 6am
Air Asia Thailand flies out of Don muaeng old airport (long drive to Patts) fares can get up there in price if trying to fly regular hours - then you might as well  fly HK Airlines.

Air Asia Thai has good fares between Pattaya & Macau past couple of months typical return flights 4000-6000 baht.  Only have 1
flight per day going each way  Patt-Macau & Macau to Patts - no flights Wed or Sundays.

Also emirates can have fairly good cheap airfares on a back fill flight for Suvarnbhumi (BKK) - HKG - this flight is the Dubai-bkk-hk route.  I can't remember  which route has the late night flight into  BKK or  HKG . I think the BKK to HKG is early afternoon and the HKG to BKK is like 10pm?

Yes that is correct the flight from HKG to BKK gets in late at night but still just enough time to sneak in one or two beers before the bars close at 2am.

I’m back in HK the coming Chinese New Year. I’ve been thinking of making a quick trip to Bangkok then. But so much time wasted on travel getting to the airport early and then getting to the hotel, and then all of that again returning to HK. Really glad I found this thread, but it doesn't seem to cover what I was looking for. I'm doing a quick trip to Thailand next week and was wondering what the fishbowl scene was like.

Taxis - well yes your are going to encounter taxis not wanting to use meters etc in bangkok.  Tuk Tuks as usual you negotiate your price, taxi bikes are fine if you haven't  far to go like between Soi Cowboy and Nana.

I'm going to be making a trip to Bangkok come mid January.  I've visited Thailand before, but this was more than 13 years ago.

There are three reasons I'm visiting.  In order of most to least important:

1. Eating
2. Muy Thai Boxing
3. Massage, and maybe sex if I find girls who are MCOTs

Like Mark Wiens, I travel to eat.  And I am fucking dying to eat Thai food in Thailand again.  I also box a bit on the side.  Nothing gung-ho, just for exercise and want to take some simple muy thai classes.
