but they do charge you 66 rmb a person to sit there
plus i there was a 50 rmb fee if you pick a chick in the flower st
im not 100% sure about the 50 rmb fee since my friend did the talking

Yeah, I have several mates that are great to go punting with - much funner than sitting in a bar alone.  You go for drinks, shoot the shit, discuss the gals, enjoy the evening before finally brining a gal to a hotel.

I prefer being a loner too. That's why I started this thread, I was surprised to see so much mention of group mongering in the forums.

Surprised? How could you be? We loners seem to be the exception, as opposed to the rule. Every time I go into a sauna, the mama san asks me if I'm came alone, as if I'm a creep/pervert for wanting to have sex without others knowing! All others seem to go in groups, especially to karaokes.

I know in Australia, I see a lot of guys go into the brothels in groups as well. As if it's a mob mentality, whereby it's not wrong if someone else does it too.

im guilty of that too. going to ktvs alone seems to make me feel like one lonely bastard. doesnt stop me from going to massage parlors alone though... probably bec ktv has more to do with companionship or whatever as opposed to just shooting your load in MPs.

Punting is something  discreet and personal.
We dont want our action to affect our family, relatives, friends and work. The power of gossiping and slandering.
Image and confidentiality is important to some.
That;s why, most bros prefer to punt alone, especially in country where visiting the WG is very safe, e.g. HK and Macao.

However, some prefer the crowd and companionship, having the pleasure of chatting and sharing real time experience, having the guts to visit the brothel if you have a partner in crime,  knocking on doors, calling the agents and looking out for each other.
Helping each other to plant Alibi/evidence and covering each other asses.

For Karaoke and KTV, group of guys shared the bills, shared the glass and party together.

However, partying in group can be fun but sometime there are things we neglected. Each of us has different taste, preference and liking.
We must admit that punter is Selfish in nature. We sometime became inconsiderate and forget the person sitting next to you.

Funny you mention this.  In the past, I too felt strange telling them alone when the manager/girl asks me if I came by myself.  Made me feel like some kinda lonely loser outcast.

I also hate it when they ask me how often do I come... or even worse which girls have I seen before.

LOL. I don't mind them asking me how often I come. It's a concern for me when they start saying, "So I've heard from my other sisters about you." That's when I'm concerned! I've got a reputation at these saunas! Damn these girls have good memories. I must now find new joints.

If you do go in a group there are pros and cons.

When I first started mongering in China, I went with my friends to a small KTV. There were seven guys.

Only two of my friend's knew the routine and been to this KTV before.  For example, what was the sitting fee, billing, any mommie's fee, tipping, the girl's take out fee, etc   Only about 4 knew some decent Mandarin. This happened years ago........in a far far place in a small town in Southern China and it was not CP

I didn't know the routine and I didn't speak Mandarin very well.  The place only had about 40 girls and ONLY about a handful were OK to me.  Well, some girls came into our room. Two line ups.  One of my friends quickly picked first. He was a newbie too to the mongering scene and never been to China before.  He selected the girl I wanted to pick. Then my other friend quickly picked my second choice.  Then another friend picked something I liked. I said to myself, I better pick FAST because I didn't want to be the guy without a girl.  I ended picking a girl I didn't really like for the night.  All during night at the KTV, I was looking at my other friend's girls. Later, I ended spending the night alone.  

The third day in China, we went to a BBS. There were only about 12-15 girls. Only about 3-4 were OK.  My other friends quickly started to pick.  I ended not picking at all. The rest were NO for me.  Found out most of my friends had the same taste for girls as I do.
      
My point is, find a few guys who doesn't have the same taste and don't go in a large group.  In my opinion a smaller group is better for KTV's.  For big places with a lots of girls like the Mayflower or Jai Yu, it doesn't matter because there are plenty of girls.

Also the pros in going in a large group, sharing the cost and more security. Then in some KTV's there are naked games where you can see other girls if you are in a large group.

big ktv like mayflower/eurasia is fine for big groups
but if u go to smaller joints like pennisula/fuhao gonnna be slim pickings
must have flower street or it will be baddddddddddddd
small group or alone is best for saunas

I totally get the strategy of not going with buddies who like what you like, but how are you supposed to find that out beforehand?  You have to dive in and go hunting and see how it all works out.  The irony is that you could end up working yourway through a dozen friends before you find that happy balance, and by that point, everyone in your circle is going to know your dirty little secret!
