Yeah RICO has heard from a very good source that the iphone 5 will be out in the middle to end of October....

I actually heard it from the manager at the Apple store in Manchester Arndale center.. He's a good mate hence RICO getting the first ten iphone 5...

my neighbor 4 doors down from me is a director at Apple HQ in Cupertino, and even he doesn't know the release date.  So anyone who "knows" is just guessing.  The guess here is end of October, given the Oct 4 press conference announcing the iPhone 5.

Ok guys Apply have made a statement they are hosting an "iPhone" related event at their headquaters. Does anybody need a bigger hint or just spell it out? iPhone 5 is releasing Oct 4, expected bigger screen and more remote capabilities.

Actually Apple sells unlocked no-contract iPhones on its US website.  They quietly put those up after the initial launch.  If you go to the Apple store, select iPhone and get to the page where you select color and flash size, you'll see a little link on the page that says
Or get iPhone unlocked and contract-free immediately below the choice of network carriers.

I don't know if unlocked iPhone 5s will be up there immediately after launch, but they'll be there at some point

Yea thanks I've decided to get a factory unlock phone. It really depends how much the iPhone 5 will be overpriced in HK and how long it'll take to get one. I won't be back in the states for a while, so I think I might just have to use my iPhone 4 until I can get a hand on the new iPhone 5 for a decent price.

Just heard today from my Chinese friends in China that the iPhone 5 is out in Oct and they already fuck up the black market price up to 10K.

There is also lot of rumours that Iphone4S would come now and actual Iphone 5 would come in the spring, but those are all speculation, soon we should see i hope.

Correction there, a major part of the technology sector now implies it is the iPhone 4GS released on oct 4, not the iphone 5.

Apple will definitely announce the iphone 5 on Oct 4, here is a picture, shapes like an ipad, thin on the bottom and thicker on top, the screen is about 3.7 or 4" where the iphone 4 is 3.5".

(Credit: CNET) Police in Shanghai have arrested five people who allegedly built, and subsequently sold, near-perfect copies of Apple's iPhone in China, Reuters is reporting.

According to the news service, the people allegedly involved in the ring paid about 2,000 yuan ($313) for all the parts required to develop an iPhone copycat. After boxing the devices up, the group reportedly then sold them in Chinese markets, as well as online, for 4,000 yuan ($625)--about the same price the genuine iPhone 4 goes for in the country.

The fake iPhones weren't exact replicas, but Reuters quoted one Shanghai police officer who said that "it's really hard for customers to distinguish the fake ones from the genuine ones."

China has long been a popular home for counterfeit tech goods. And as of late, Apple has been one of the leading targets of those people engaging in the development of fake devices.

In August, customers on China's top online-retail service, Taobao, were able to buy the "HiPhone 5," a device that purported to boast the same features as Apple's long-rumored iPhone 5. Whether changes will be made to the HiPhone 5 once the real iPhone 5 is unveiled next week remains to be seen.

But it's not just iPhones. China has also been home to dozens of fake Apple stores that use Apple logos, have the same store layouts, and offer all the same products. However, some of those outlets have been shut down by Chinese authorities.

Bro moming, how can you say definately? Why are you so sure? because of those rumored alleged iphone 5 pics? I have also seen many pics ranging from a circular to rectangular iphone 5 on the net.

The photo is from a reliable/reputable source, but I still not definite if that's how it looks like, we'll find out in about a week when Apple make the announcement. The screen definitely will be bigger and few new features. Rumor has it, that might be a newer version of the Iphone 4 as well, may be Iphone 4GS.

I read a report in the rumor mill that says the iphone 4S was made up by the media. That there is no evidence to led us to believe that there will be a iphone 4S.  I guess we will all find out on October 4.

They have found some evidence of the faceplate of the iPhone 4 from the Brazil Foxconn factory with a different model number than the current ones, but it may be the iPhone 5, alhtough no changes

so we'll see the iPhone 5 tomorrow. Watch out!

NO iPhone 5 just iPhone 4s i kinda disappointed over the long wait.

Big yawn and a big disappointment, I think a lot of people were  expecting the iphone 5, instead, just a iphone 4s. After the  announcement, Apple stock went down, usually it's up. Well, Tim Cook is not Steve Jobs.

cant blame it on Tim Cook, iPhone 4s was already made even before Steve Jobs called it quits.
