Great thread & some brilliant responses. Actually I'm not really sure i know the answer but here's a few thoughts:
1. I love the rush of some random beautiful young lady knocking on my door so that she can suck my cock (preferably on her knees by the side of the bed).

Also, I'm not really interested in girls except for sex. I'd always prefer staying home and reading a good book over a night out with a girl, and if I want the company of other people, I will barbecue some steaks with (male) friends and we'd talk about interesting topics, and not about clothing, clubbing, shopping, or all the other lifestyle stuff that the 20-something-girls in Munich seem to have their life devoted to. Conversations with girls just bore the hell out of me, I'd rather just go down on them!

I've tried girlfriends, but it's just not for me. Also, have you ever made the calculation of what a girlfriend will cost you per month, say for cell phone calls, picking her up and getting her to places by car, food, flowers, condoms. Man, I sure can go punting quite a few times for the same money!

I feel ashamed, I tell myself I'm a sick fuck... that I love my so and I shouldn't do what I'm about to do... but then I end up doing it anyway. For me it's not about companionship, pretty girls, emotional connection, any of that. I've been with ugly girls, fat ones, exceptionally beautiful ones, always looking just for the act, always wanting them gone the second after. And always, always, accompanied by the sickening guilt. But the need to do it is too overwhelming and it comes too often to be dealt with by my so.

I cannot conceive life without my so, but still I play the game. I hope a fool's hope that I'll have the strength to stop once we get married.

i believe that the transaction of quick gratification is quite satisfying
where a cheap thrill without the emotional baggage becomes priceless
this short sensation is an ego boost to last the day / next day
and assists getting through the next day /same day with a huge emotional lift

to me, practice makes perfect and we all want to be great lovers with our SO

Easy: guaranteed lay for generally less money and no strings attached vis a vis dating civvies. Not good when you need emotional companionship though - that's when civvies come into the picture.
