i don't like the way these superstars did things.  Just compare with the way kevin durant and the thunder have built their team.  quiet and humble

I think even if Lebron wins a championship with Miami its not going to be on the same level as the ones that Kobe or Jordan have won.  Those guys won it with working with what they had.  But Miami just opened up their wallets and signed a bunch of guys.  Kinda like the way the NY Yankees win.  You can compare Lebron to A Rod and his quest for a ring.  Lebron will win a championship at some point with the Heat but people will always talk about him not being able to win in Cleveland with a #1 regular season team two years in a row.

Well I wouldn't go so far as to compare them to the original Evil Empire. Yankees are accused of buying their championships by overspending other teams by quite a bit, because there is no salary cap. In the NBA there is a cap, even though it's not a true hard cap, most teams stay under it.

I will say it does diminish his legacy no matter how many championships he does win. He won't be considered THE GUY, but rather just one of the talented trio.

jordan needed pippen, kukoc and rodman, kobe needed gasol, and to a lesser degree fisher and artest. pippen, kukoc and rodman were all-stars at points in their career, and so were gasol and artest.

lebron needs someone too. and he's got 2 more all-stars.

Te only one to have stifle is wade, and he got his with shaq. Are all three guys going to get their money.  Or would they make more if they split up.  If they are making less than they otherwise would then winning does count alot and says alot about them

wow wade has been the face of miami, and now another superstar comes in. james is better then wade, but wade has been the superstar and main guy in miami so i wonder how will he take it with james coming in. you got 3 good scorers, but not all 3 will be able to put up big numbers every night. interesting to see how it will go later this year. one thing for sure i will buy tickets to the first miami game that comes to town.

It was anticlimactic for James announcement.  He made a big deal about it then it was made out to be a big tv announcement. It turned out to be nothing of an announcement.  Then to choose Miami which some take as the easy way out because he teams with wade and bosch

I heard Miami stopped their season ticket sales just before the announcement. Whoever got tickets to the Heat's home opener could make quite a bit of cha-ching by scalping them.

I hate Lebron, but I can't fault him for chasing the 'chips!  The trio Miami now has is how Boston was a few years back when KG and Ray Allen joined Paul Pierce...only it's to a larger degree and more hyped.

But you have to remember the last time a team was formed that was ridiculously talented:  '03-04 Lakers (Kobe, Shaq, Karl Malone, GP).  Despite the enormous talent, they failed to bring home a ring and lost to a hardly heralded Pistons team.  I'm not saying the Heat won't win a ring, but for everyone ready to just hand them the championship, you've gotta be wary of a talented team that's got good chemistry (i.e. Lakers).

But fuck all that, my Warriors signed David Lee!  I can't tell whether I'm ecstatic or just plain depressed!

Good riddance!  LBJ is a jerk.  When he lost in the playoffs a couple of years ago he walked off without shaking his opponents hands.  Now with the 1 hour special he did not bother to properly notify Cleveland of his pending decision.  He's a totally classless indvidual.  The only thing I do like their new nickname the 3MeGos and hope that sticks.

wow why all the hatred, come on its still a game.
I just look forward to see what these three have planned for us on the court.
They played well together in the olympics and they were crazy in the allstar game
Why is it so hard for people to accept when a player leaves.
Most of you guys would have probably done the same.
No one would stay in a team he doesnt believe in.
Because of all the childish reactions I now hope these guys win it 3 times in a row or maybe more.

Did you guys see what the owner of the Cavs posted in response to LBJ leaving Cleveland? It's insane, that guy was really pissed off!!

He guaranteed the Cavs will win a Championship before "King" James does!

I encourage employment mobility may it be vertical or lateral but there is an etiquette in the business world especially after seven years in Cleveland.  Going on National TV is going to and above his head.

I'm certainly no fan of the way he handled himself. I think it's a case of having friends as your managers, the way he tried to grow Lebron Inc. was amateurish at best.

End of the day I don't blame him for wanting to win a championship with his buddies in the NBA. He earned his right by the rules in place of obtaining his FA rights. Heck they all in theory took less money to have this chance. If they win, the endorsement dollars will make that up.

Of couse if I was a Cavs fan, I'd feel jilted and can understand them being emotional and upset and believing he back stabbed them. Lebron is a grown man, he made his decision in the way he wanted to, and the fans have a right to feel however they do. It will be an interesting first game back in Cleveland for sure!

Miami will be very difficult to beat if the 3 big guys are no playing for themselves but for the team.

But I hope Kobe will win another tittle.

Ultimately it wasn't his destination so much but the way the handled everything. There was no need to have that tv special and build up all the hype and drama. It's been reported that the proceeds from the advertisements go to charity but it's just a convenient public relations ploy to garner good will. His announcement was heart breaking and embarassed the Cavaliers organization, its fans, and the city. It was his decision to make and his alone but there was no need for the flashy show. As a free agent, he had the right to go anywhere he wanted. Does he owe the Cavaliers organization, its fans, and the city anything? Who knows? All he needed was a few seconds to make his announcement instead of holding the league hostage.

The owner of the Cavaliers did not respond well at all, with a lot of his statements based on emotions. It's understandable that he responded in the way it didn't come out the way it should have been, he obviously didn't handle the whole situation well at all. He made a lot of disparaging remarks about LeBron James but it makes you wonder what kind of person and owner he is?

Will it looks like Gilbert is used to getting his way, and definitely came off as childish and a sore loser. Certainly less than professional and not what an owner should do if he wants other NBA players to play for his team. He let his emotions get the better of him, but I'm sure if you asked an Ohioan right after the annoucement for a reaction, it probably would've been a similar emotional outburst.

It's hard to blame Lebron. He stayed at Cleveland for 7 years since he was 18 and won nothing until he's 25 now. He's not leaving to Miami for the money, he needs to win Championships. He even took a pay cut. He's got great friends at Miami in the likes of Bosh and Wade who he played US olympics basketball with and, most importantly, if he is to cement himself as one of the all time greats like Jordan, it seems to me that "greatness" is counted by championship rings.
It's going to be interesting to see how the 3 superstars play together Can't wait!!

The move will prove out to be one of te colossal failures as lebron fails to win a championship. Bosch and wade are good but plenty of resistance in the legaue is around.   It would have been better to see lebron on say te Knicks where with stoudamire and ten maybe Carmelo next year thectra was his. Don't know if he is still the king.  Many people seem to think this was a bad move.
