Escrit, by now you must think I have it in for you - it's not true man! Really! I'm not a mean guy. But are you American? Where on earth do you get the idea that it's pretty common for guys to shave their pubes in the States?

I'm a born and raised American. In 50+ years in the States, I have NEVER encountered a guy who shaved his pubes - not once. I have NEVER even heard it mentioned by anyone. In addition to having a very large circle of acquaintances, I've been a regular member of various gym's around the country and have seen thousands of naked guys, but not one shaved crotch.

The average American guy WOULD NOT BE CAUGHT DEAD in public with a shaved crotch! I suspect shaved pubes are about as common with American men as pierced nipples; sure you can find the odd example in specific circles, but pretty common??!!

And, hopefully, my last word on the subject of pubic hair and disease:

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a serious sexual disease from a girl's pubic hair. ALL sexual diseases (AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, chlamydia, etc.) live in the sex organs not in pubic hair. In fact, I know of NO STD that comes from contact with pubic hair. The only thing that I can think of is lice, an insect. But you can get lice from a head rest as well, and it's easily cured.

Therefore, there is NO medical or hygienic reason to shave one's pubic hair. If you find pubic hair distasteful, that's an aesthetic judgment. If you want a shaved crotch for erotic reasons, fine. But to offer medical or hygienic reasons for that practice is scientific nonsense.

No, I am not American, but I have my credential from seeing guys naked (due to reason I don't care to divulge) and been in this hobby for more than 10 years. How many guys have you seen them naked?

Well, I've been in this hobby for 30 years. I was born and raised in the US, went to school and college in the States, and have lived an average American live on both coasts. And as I said in my post, I've worked out in gyms across the country and have seen thousands of naked guys.  Nobody shaves their crotch!

But as I hinted with my comment on pierced nipples, probably the only group of guys who do shave their crotches with any frequency in the States are the gays. It sounds to me like your friends belong to a very unusual group of guys. Your mistake is thinking that they represent the average American.

I really don't take any pleasure in tormenting the guy, but he's got some strange ideas.

Are you saying that there is some occupational reason why military people shave off all their pubic hair? Or is it that a bunch of red-blooded straight guys with a lot of time on their hands and nothing much to do at the end of the day, gather around in the barracks and say to each other "Hey, I'm bored! Why don't we shave our crotches. Yah, fuck the tattoos. that's so been there done that, let's shave our dicks!"

It might be that a soldier assigned to a hot/humid climate has to do that. I don't know. But IF it's true, I'll bet everything I own, that when they're discharged, the crotch shaving stops. So by definition, it is not a common American male practice.

And as far as the common guy at Berkely shaving his crotch - that is utter bullshit. And we're talking about shaving not trimming. Shaving is removing all the hair.

I have an advanced degree in linguistics and have spent many years in American Universities. Isn't it odd that you went to school with a bunch of average-American crotch-shaving Joes, and I never encountered one??!! What are the odds of that?

This is not a matter of opinion. If crotch shaving is a common American male habit, how could I possibly have lived 50+ years in the States and NEVER encountered one example? You would think a common male habit would have been mentioned once by someone around me, but it never happened.

This thread is wierd. Guys shaving their pubics??? I'm with Marsupial on this one. I've been involved in team sports my whole life. I also visit saunas and bath houses. I've seen thousands of naked guys - more than any WG probably. I'm English but for 30 years I played rugby on 3 continents [doesn't include the US] and I've never seen even one guy with a shaved crotch. As I said in an earlier post - why would anyone do it??    

I prefer in this order.

1. Naturally hairless pink pussies.
2. Cleanly trimmed pussies
3. Shaved pussies

Not prefered:
4. Pussies with pubic gardens around them.

Not necessarily. I had a 20-year old in Mong Kok with a naturally hairless pussy. But M, they are quite rare, so maybe No. 1
should also include a little soft, wispy hair.
