It's a 4 year old experience but one of the best burgers i had was something at the IC in TST...in Harbourside (the buffet/resto downstairs).  It was some wagyu/kobe beef concoction topped with mushrooms and grilled foie gras.  I was never a fan of chi-chi gourmet burgers but this was really good!

My 2 cents (and then some) worth.

Being an ABC I never really did the burger thing when in HK as I prefer to get my fix of Asian foods (high and low) while in HK.

Seeing the world one WG at a time.

Try the Chedder and Bacon burger at The Jockey located in Happy Valley.

Triple O's is also good, but The Jockey is better IMHO and also its a nice bar with some outdoor seating too.  Perfect for a lazy weekend lunch.

In HK for burgers, try Dan Ryan's Chicago Bar & Grill in the Ocean Centre TST. That would be my favourite. There was also a Ruby Tuesday's in same complex and their burgers also good, however I am not sure if that is still there. If not there is another one at the big shopping centre in Shatin.

You didn't find the burgers at Fat Burger too lean dry?

Maybe its just my preference, but I like the meat to be not too lean.  Fat = juiciness

Also I love adding an egg in there..  Gets messy eating it if you have poor yolk control skills, but its totally worth it.

Yah, thats the Gourmet Burger. I went there for my final meal during my last trip to HK. I was very very disappointed, but maybe that's because I expected it be this amazing place lol. I've tried Mos, BK, triple-O, Freshness, Fat. I really gotta try BurgeRoom.. looks so goooooooddddd...

However, my favorite regular burger (ie. not sliders) nowadays is the original Monty Mushroom burger at White Spot (no lettuce and no tomato), or the shroom burger at Red Robin's.

Do they have any Red Robin's in HK?

A hamburger thread without my input, hamburger?

Here's the lowdown about most of the burger places in town.

Tripe O's - It's whitespot, a tad better than Denny's. Substantial bun but the sauce is just lathered with mayo. Typical Canadian shit. Canned slice mushrooms.

Mac D - cheapest in town. Double quarter pounder is just steamed beef & cheese. Supreme is thousand island sauce. All their beef is like steamed/microwave shit. However, their hamburger and double cheese burger is like a pocket grease ball and is the perfect snack.

Hardy's - IT'S GONE SUCKERS

Burger King - THe reason why it was so fancy because you could only eat in when you leave HK. Or at the peak. Its decent but I don't know why they switched the sauce from BBQ to Ketchup. THey also took down the double whopper. Fucking Pussies. Fastfood place which actually grills your paddy on request.

WoW Burger - It's the cheaper specialty burger places. A meal does not come with fries and you have to pay $8 extra. Cheap skates. It's more of a fat juicy burger place with a bit of mayo. The meat is a bit bland and crumbles easily. Well that's what you get for being cheap.

Monster Burger - Their fries are surprisingly good. it costs slightly more than WoW burger but you get a drink and fries for a meal. No double paddies. Meat is substantial, but on the lean side. At least not the mayonnaise shit.

Burger Union - A good selection of cheese, thick juicy paddies. But shit vegetables and NO RED ONION. WTF, where's my sliced tangy red onion? It's one of the better ones out there.

Fat burger - Triple burger is awesome to stuff your mouth. They actually grill your paddies and you get to play the jukebox for free! But paddies are on the lean side.

Shake em buns - this place is like WoW burger but bigger portions. Really good milk shake but the paddy is juiciest of them all. Really crumbly meat but more old school.

Duke's a poser - Takes forever to get a spot but it's more like a steak sandwich instead of burger. Cheese is nice but the veggies and sides are not so good. Expensive too.

Archie B's - One of the places which have been in Hong Kong for ever. Paddies are thick and juicy with crispy atomic fries. Larger portions too. One of my favs.

Kraze burger (in i square) - Only crazy Koreans eat burgers with a fork and this place has one of the thinnest paddies ever. Again with the mayonaise shit. and you pay service charge for a fast food setting. Fuck this shit, go Triple O's if you are that desperate.

MOS Burger- It's sloppy Joes, more than hamburger. Over hyped Japanese shit.

Freshness burger - surprisingly juicy paddies for the fast food variety. Feels more like steamed than grilled but the bun, fries and veggies are not bad. It's a quriky fav of mine.

*special choice* L'atleier robuchon - its mini burgers is heavenly, extravagant and surreal. The bread is its usual buttered french shit but slice of foigras and beef is amazing. It just melts in your tongue while the fragrances fill your nose. The salted fries are perfect but there is a problem besides the price. Fucking gourmet red pepper ketchup. Shit needs to be tomatoe heinz. Even delmonte tastes funny.

BUT WAIT HAMBURGER, WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE FOR A HAMBURGER?

Morton's handsdown. Best Cheese, Best veggies, Best burger. BUt it's big. Like NBA player's plams big. Just go.

Dan Ryan's, TGI friday's, outback, any other restaurant chain - GTFO. Go eat some noodles.

Gotta try BLT burger some other time, its steaks are decent but gotta give the burgers a try,

McSorley's in Discovery Bay serves a GREAT Bacon and Cheeseburger. Puts burgers from Dan Ryan's / Ruby Tuesdays / otherchain to shame.
