Last year I visited a girl in NP Coronet Court over a period of a few months. I got my ID taken down three times! Twice they were doing room checks and I just walked right into them as I reached the top of the stairs. The third time was when I was leaving - As I neared the bottom of the stairs, I saw a male and a female officer waiting to cross the road at the pedestrian crossing. I wanted to turn around and walk back up the stairs again but one of them turned and saw me, so I had to just continued walking down to the street!

Of course, they stopped me to check my ID, but get this: The female PC was in her twenties and was fucking gorgeous!! As he guy took my card and waited for the station to verify me, this uniformed hottie chatted to me really politely and closely about normal things (work, economy, etc.). I can still remember her perfect complexion and her full, utterly kissable lips! I entertained, if only for a brief second, the thought of trying to pull her!

On hindsight, I would guess that she knew the power she had on men, and enjoyed using it to try to shame flustered, red-handed mongerers in some way...

I was in a girl's room in New Lucky House when the police decided to bang on the door.

The flat belonged to one of the guesthouses, but I'm sure it wasn't licensed as there was a girl working in each room.

The police asked us both for IDs, and she took out her China passport.

They then asked me who she was, and I said 'My girlfriend'.  They apologised for the inconvenience and left.

Generally HK Police are quite good... much better than their Taiwanese or mainland counterparts.  No bad experiences so far (touch wood...)

Normally when someone calls me "Yellow" or "Chink" etc I just reply to them in my best boarding school accent...I remember when England lost in a match (whilst I was still at University, ahhh Happy Days!) some football hooligans shouted at me and told me to "Fuck off back to Japan". I explained in my poshest accent that I would love to go to Japan, but that was not my country of origin. Looking back, it was probably luck that prevented them from bottling me.

If you mean some of the other mongering sites, there were official complaints from within HK last summer about the old bill having shut down some of the sites illegally!  That made it into even the English papers.  Well what do you expect.  I guess Ziteng or whatever that group is as well as the site owners lost that battle, or gave up.

I wouldn't worry too much about what you look like:  walking around areas like Jordan, Yaumatei, Mongkok, SSP.. in the after-midnight hours in ripped pants, big boots, long hair, black leather & spikes even, where all the street walkers do their business, the pigs always left me alone (dating as recently back to late last year), and you can see I'm not the only guy here to have made a report like that.  If they were looking pissy I would start fiddling with my phone or go into 7-11 or ask for directions in Chinese and they would ignore me.  In fact the only time I got IDed in an area teaming with hookers I told him my ID was upstairs (I had just left the building), so he actually let me go get it, sans supervision.  Guess I could have left through another exit but I returned and produced a valid document to see for curiosity's sake if he would still actually be there.  Remember that they're mostly around just to do their duty and remind everyone who's boss -they're not on a mission from God to arrest you.

Sometimes if you get caught on the way out/down the stairs, particularly later on at night, it's actually just because of a routine check for burglars so try not to panic and pique their curiosity in the process.

Lying to the cops is fuckin stupid bro. They had her ID, all they had to do was ask you for her name. I'll bet you didn't know.

Just out of curiosity are the majority of these checks at 141 locations happening in the late evening or after midnight?

Is so then going in the afternoon would be the safest and probably the quietest time.

That's good advice bro.   Raids are always at night and I don't think the cops would waste their time in the afternoon.

Gweilo is supposed to mean "Old Devil" referring to Chinese thinking of Westerners as devils.  Is it offensive?  Depends who you ask.   My friend finds it offensive but I do not.  I think the N-word and chink, chinaman, etc are certainly more severe, but I use all of them freely when another person of that group enrages me.  I think it's just human nature to retaliate and inflict alot of damage quickly in any way you can.  I'm not in the Klan, not a redneck, and I love fucking hot Asian chicks so I'm not out to destroy the world, certainly not the 141 ladies anyway!

Careful bro. Racism is definitely out but bashing public school boys was a well-established sport when I was growing up.

I've been checked at one of those walkups before. Just as i was about to get ready to fuck the girl, the come and knock on the door. They asked us to get dressed and asked for identification. She gave her passport which had a tourist visa and i gave my hkid card. They took her away and made me sign some forms and then sent me on my way without any problems.  

I also have friends who have come here as tourists caught up in the same situation, they only ask for their proof of identity and don't require them to fill out the same forms as the locals.

All I can say, is that never in the history of this forum, has a bunch of guys been more in  need of a BJ than you lot !

I don't live in HK and have never worried about police ID stuff .... heh I'm respectable tourist, but I am intrigued to know whether some local aspect is at play here. Maybe Alfbear will enlighten me?

I think alfbear was referring to the racist insults part of the thread, not the ID checks. If you're a white tourist
in HK, chances are you'll never be asked for ID. If you're black or brown - different story. Rascism is definitely

From what I read, the police really had no leg to stand on as far as shutting down the site.

Also is the police harassment against sex workers really as bad as what ziteng makes it out to be? Why aren't search warrants needed when visiting a one woman brothels? and hotel rooms Is it because it's a business open to the "general public"? Is it because of probable cause? Also I realize that you can waive your rights to a search warrant by letting the cop in.
