i've always liked this section of the board as an anarchic catch-all for any member. sometimes it has been "SEAJ's blog," sometimes a chat-board, sometimes a source of great insight, sometimes humor (banter or otherwise).

but i've noticed that i seldom check the Monger's Lounge now that's it's been moved: as was pointed out above, often there are one-line queries ("can i get CIM in Mongkok?") and while sharing that info is fine, unless u have some info to relate or are interested in the subject, it's...well, here's the first four topics as of this minute:

• Newbie question - bringing WGs to your hotel room
• 37D - Where is it?
• Recent movie/documentary called " whores glory " anyone seen it?
• Wan Chai on a Sunday  

errr: RTFF, 37 Dundas, watching dodgy docus = mongering?, RTFF. apologies for snarkiness, but there it is. all Net forums have RTFF-queries: try reading lonelyplanet.com's Thorn Tree sometime. as for WG docus, i'd like to see some filmmakers give the digicams to THE GIRLS and let THEM shoot the docu, let's see the distributor who'll release THAT.

i respect the mods for all they do, if they put this in Veg Cafe, it's their call. a lot of IC is veggie. but if i'm writing reports on WGs (which has been the case lately), that plus work cuts down on my chatter. appreciate the thoughts by d'Artagnan, and once SEAJ transcended his initial burst of WTFism, he's been thoughtful as well.

as for boinking hookers, south China is a good locale for it, and there's a lot of useful info on this forum. CL waxed wistful over the good old K-free days, and like all mods, he deserves massive respect, but frankly, i was on this board briefly in 2009 and didn't find it nearly as useful as it is now for practical WG info. considering it's a gnat compared to the Chinese section, and many bilingual bros write that the English section is more informative, that's an endorsement of the mods and their work. yes, we've had schisms and disruptions, but every other forum i've been on has either withered or imploded, often with surprising speed.

and yes, the page-views help. they keep bros interested in the forum, and if yr reading it, u might want to post on yr latest punt, comment on whatever, detail yr punting history or fetishes, or whatEVER! it's Idle Chatter!!

Hi, Jack. The RA system was introduced first and foremost as a way to generate member participation, to grow the forum. And it worked, as you know from your comparison of the forum from 2009. Yes, I was waxing a bit, but always up for progression and 'shaking up of things'!

For someone who claims to be in his 20s, you do love bingo a lot - LOL!

Encouraging posting is good, but continuous and generous K-awarding, especially among non-newbies, is not good, imo. The message just doesn't sit right for me, no matter how I look at it.

Agree AND already corrected - as I've stopped the automatic awarding of K's since April Fool's day.

PLEASE Mods/Admin - consider that all I am and had always wanted to do is to contribute to the forum; and the idle chat thread is my own way of doing so.  For it now to be moved to the Veggie section IMHO does indicate your displeasure of its WHOLE etho and will actually DIScourage newbies/newer members from participating; sensing somehow or another that something's not right in Stockholm

PLEASE consider the context - even threads like the Senior's gripe post is IMHO the one and biggest contributor to discord, strife and members getting PO'd - and yet you still grant posting credits?

PLEASE consider - what's SO BAD, SO EVIL about allowing posting credits for member's contribution to the overall viability of the forum.  As CL pointed out, the K system was promulgated with the expressed - and now proven - intention of encouraging participation, posts and views. So putting the ICT on a NON-posting credit section spells - at least to me - that you want to kill it off.

Is that better?

Some initial random thoughts from that:  
- You "neglected" the Veggie Cafe and other sections previously?
- Are idle chat threads the way to go going forward, a la World Sex Guide?
- The non-report sections should become one mammoth single thread, like some open communal blog?
- Deeply buried info vs massively fragmented snippets?

Nothing wrong with moving a post to another thread, but even as we idly chatting, we chat about mongering and all that pertains to mongering.  Not very veggie like, but full of bs and just creating a fun atmosphere among friends with a simliar hobby.

Wow! I never thought about that! sponsoring a girl and having an actual plan in helping them get out of the trade. That's actually quite informative! My take on condoms...

0.01 condoms actually fuck you up sexually. I find that once you use it, it's hard to use any other condoms. In addition, it's not all that great of a condom either. First off there's not enough lubrication on the 0.01 and girls who fuck a lot, BBS girls, they are more dry than usual. So either bring your lube or stay away.

I use to use a lot of 0.01, but after a while, i realized that it's harder for me to come with a 0.01 than other condoms for some reason. Forget about China made anything...i get so scared in Saunas when they use those domestic condoms, you never know what's going to happen. i had a friend who broke his condom at a Sauna in CA and he was fucking scared the whole week.

There's no .01 condoms in the wide market yet, right?  Last time I asked, I got answers that one company made it but it was really difficult to find (like only in HK and only in select places).  China doesn't sell them at all (well, perhaps in ShangHai or rare stores).

.02 and .03 are widely available and could be bought in any convenience store.

I used the .02 and .03 and they're nice.  Pretty thin and no problems.  Only drawback is the price.

I have bought .01's but they're China made and I'm sure they're 100% NOT .01.  That means when I use them, they feel like a regular condom.  Considering they cost as little as any other China made regular condoms, I think they're advertised as .01s in package only.  They do fuck me up sexually but for me, it's because they kinda desensitize my dick and as I can't feel sensation, it may take me longer to cum.  That's why I think they're as thick as a regular china made condom.

I do like the .02 and .03s.  They do feel nice and I also like the Durex ones.  I'm ok with most authentic condoms, but with China made ones, they just kinda feel "wrong".  I dunno.  And I'm not worried about it breaking cuz I ain't got a big dick.  But for some reason, it feels like my dick is wrapped, but the sensation is less.  Maybe it's my brain fucking with me.  I do like my stuff authentic and not fake, so that may be it.

but first an observation: i think while all members know the mods are volunteers, busy with job/family/friends and of course their own hobby-interests, most of us would really like to know what you guys think. you're asking us in this post, and IT'S GREAT. feedback from mods is appreciated. we like the forum and we'd like to contribute appropriately.

that said, any sex forum on the Internet is going to have lurkers, multiple-identities, nervous newbies, clueless newbies, sociopathic newbies, curious spouses (don't think they're not reading), even a WG or two reading her own reports. a responsible member will NEVER give his login/password to a WG--but can we say it's never happened?

and you can never please everyone. if i could suggest one thing, it would be to separate "Rest of World" into "Asia" and "Rest of World." but i know what an effort it would be. still, if i could ask for one thing, that would be it--many bros are interested in the Asia region but not North America/Australia/Europe, and vice versa.

so let me answer yr points:

- oh, i'd scan the Veg Cafe every once in awhile, but not often. as for the rest of the General section, although i'd post news if it was related to the 141 scene, i seldom check those either. that's no judgement on them: having a Jokes section is fun, having a Rubbish Dump is a very good idea. an archive of what NOT to do, as it were.

- i think the setup of the site, with a newbie section (i often look for newjacks whose writing is entertaining--THOSE guys shd be tossed K's and encouraged IMHO, some get it and keep going, some disappear), two HK sections, Macau/mainland, sauna section and Restricted Access is an excellent setup. being able to search by section is a plus. while ONE Idle Chat is good, it's an unstructured part of a largely structured site, and i think that works. it keeps the one-liners and "do u guys get boners every time u see hoop-earrings?" stuff out of general population. when u want to see what's new in 141 walk-ups, u go THERE. and u see who likes that sort of thing, and u get superb reporters like Blazza. the HG section is probably the most contentious as there are fotos and agents involved. but u pick where u want to go, and i think the structure is sound. this isn't WSG or ISG--this is HK-centric 141, with an emphasis on southern China and room for reports further afield.

- don't combine threads...not sure what yr getting at here, but the "communal blog" strategy has been tried repeatedly and always fails. we need handles and identities. we need mods. i know if i read a comment or report by wander, kaka, gwailoplayer, Blazza, cass, Petay_1283, Thai Delight, d'Artagnan or a dozen others, it'll be worthwhile--i know their personality and acumen. i learn from these guys, and from hunter also, and i think hunter has a distinct persona that has a desirable and entertaining hog-wild streak, and i also enjoy the comments of SEAJ--The Drama-Queen of WTFism (how dya like that term, LOL!). the collected wisdom of these gentlemen, their personalities and advice, are what keep me reading. i've learned a lot from posts on this board. but there needs to be air-traffic controllers. ideally, it would be great if we got bursts of static when feathers are ruffled, preferably by PM: "hey Jack, quit flicking those K's around in the Idle Chat, we're running outta runway."

the best thing u can do, i think, is to make those sticky-thread FAQ-things, like kaka's compendium of Zhuhai saunas/KTVs. also demonstrate best practices, like photographing/scanning business cards. then bros can download to a smartphone or tablet and SHOW the taxi-driver the Chinese characters. it's the Rosetta Stone, as are specific directions and fotos of landmarks.

it requires some effort, but quick guides like this (TonyToro's Wanchai guide comes to mind also) are pointers that bros can follow. often, the response to "where's 37D?" is directed to the 37D thread, which of course has FAR MORE INFO than just the address.
