This thread reminds me of one time, I was shopping with the wife and we bought a lot of fruit at the market,
including cherries, which is my favourite. When we got home and she unpacked there were no cherries, just
a lot of pips. I'd eaten every cherry on the way home.  

I hope you hadn't eaten any of these cherries.....

Try eating one of those cherries in front of your wife.

Another one of my Thailand stories as told to me by my friend who is a long term resident: some gwailo and his wife lived in Singapore and the girl was bi. Every few months they would go to Thailand and he and his wife (Gwamui from France) would hire a girl and they would have 2 on 1 sex Both man and wife were into Asian chicks.

I have had a lot of things go well for me in life , but none of us of us were born to be this fortunate.

I would not eat an apple on the go because i would get annoyed of having sticky hands afterwards. It would force me to go use a public restroom, and I hate public restrooms.

Also I would worry about biting into an apple (if crisp enough) and having the juice fly onto others.

I have the habit of eating fruit or even a sandwich on the go, and I get the dirtiest looks from some locals.


Perhaps they would be more accepting if I ate fish balls or siu mai...

While talking about the fruit stuff - anyone an idea why mainland restaurants serve tomato on every fruitplatter? To me this belongs on pasta or in ketchup, but not on a fruit platter - Just because it is a cherry tomato . come on...

Different people different habits. There's no right or wrong.

I am from US and I eat apples every day. I walk around my work at lunch eating apples.  My colleagues who are local make jokes but they eat oranges and apples at thier
desks after washing them.

Apples are really common fruit for westerners.  Good snack food. Fiber, natuaral sugar.   

You are right - I rarely see local Chinese eating apples walking around.   My wife wont do it without a platic bag - that makes me crazy cause its noisy.  Just different -thats all.

If you hear someone yell" Apple core. Who's your friend?"    Put your head down!       When done eating an apple we wont wait for a rubbish bin to toass it. We just look for some person to throw it at and then yell, "Apple core, Who's your friend?"     When we hit the person in the head we say "You are!"      Really fun game!

Now, I'm gonna go grab an apple and eat it on the way to pick up my dry cleaning and call to make an appointment for tomorrow after work with a WG named Apple I have
been trying to meet.
