she works 1:00 pm - 1:00 am 6 days a week. in order to get the 7th day off, on the 6th day she has to work the 24 hour shift.

That means she makes abut $1.39 USD an hour while the house make $58 USD off her back for the same hour.

I have heard similar stories about KTV girls in SZ.
They are rolling enough money to own multiple flats which they rent out.

It's the same all over the world when a country is developing. Prostitution flourishes where the economy is growing. Recent examples are Japan, Korea, Taiwan and even Hong Kong. Russia I believe is also now a fantastic place for mongering. Good or bad, prostitution does improve the livelihood of the people. It supports a whole entertainment industry like nightclubs, discos and karaokes. The girls work to support their family and put their brothers and sisters through college. This relieves the burden on the government.

I remember going to Korea 20 years ago and the girls there were incredible. They would accompany you the whole night and most of the next day for just US$100. They'd even wash your socks and underwear. I almost cried when the time came to leave. When I went back recently Korea was quite a boring place, like most developed countries. So, enjoy China while it lasts. I doubt in 10 - 15 years' time it'd be as fun a place as it is now.

well...knowing that tides may change in 10-15years time..then we all need to make the most out of it in the meantime!!

She makes $3400 a month and I pay the place $598 for 1.5 hr of her time. She works 12 hours 5 days a week and on the 6th day she work a 24 hrs shift so that she gets the 7th day off...

  Now that's what I call 'creative accounting'. Kinda like the doctor who sued the HK government for

I assume all these gals work on a commission and tips basis rather than a straight salary.

In my years of mongering here in HK, I have only met two WGs who cliamed they had been tricked or forced into this life and another one who was helping her dad pay off a big debt due to having run over someone with his truck and having the court force him to pay compensation. The rest pretty much all  told me it was a far easier life than "working" in some low paid job in a factory or as a waitress.
I don't want to start that same odl thread about morals or ethics but almost all these girls are taking advantage of their looks to milk us bros for as much money as possible.
No matter how good things get anywhere in the world, where there is a demand there will be WGs. After all it is called the world's oldest profession and it will be around long after all the bankers and stockbrokers are in jail!

I used to get really riled up and angry when I hear about people who break their children's limbs and send them out to beg for money (they get more sympathy from people if the kids look like they can't help themselves)...  Honestly, I still do feel angry but when you're uneducated and hungry and cold...  I don't know..  Poverty and helplessness does things to people...

Just look at the recent dairy scandal - gawd awful what these f*ckers (the farmers in the interior who supplied the milk - not even mentioning the greedy purchasers @ companies who bought them).  But there's no way out of their poverty and they see this as a way to break out...  



You can't talk to a starving man about morals...   

We're lucky in the developed world, we can stand up and say that we have morals because we aren't placed in those situations - where you have to choose between selling your children to brothels or having your next meal.  

In the end it's just luck - they were born in the wrong situation.  One can say that a normal middle-class person was born in a poor situation for not being one of Warren Buffet's offsprings.  And who is to say her luck won't change and she'll be better in the latter part of her life?  You never know - like that other poster that was posting about a Pro WG that buys multiple $30MM apartments in HK.  Hell, even I can't afford that yet.
