Head down the road to Danshui...

My contact there has told me DS was untouched by the recent raids.
Having said that all Bros should exercise caution during these periods.

Matsumoto: The 3-month crackdown period was publicly announced with great fanfare by the Guangdong Governor and Dongguan Police Chief.
http://gb.cri.cn/42071/2014/02/11/5311s4419516.htm

Even our beloved pzl is now temporarily closed for business. The raids may spread to other areas within the province too. Best not to monger to avoid getting caught with your pants down... literally.

Time to start seeking other playgrounds. Looks like DG shall never be the same... oh well we had our fun while it lasted.

Gonna miss the SNs, especially those in CA.

Yep I had DS in my mind too... will be back in Asia in March. Hope things will cool down by then.

Who knows, maybe DS has a shot at becoming the next CP...

If you have paid attention to years past, there is no evidence the sky is falling.  Just relax a little and give it time.  This is all for the cameras.  I said this in another post...

If you believe the various reported numbers... 6,000 police raided 2,000 locations and only arrested 67 people and shut 12 locations.  From past experince, 67 arrests is probably from 1-2 locations.  So it's not particularly likely you will get caught in this.

This is one of the least effective raids in DG history.  It just has a lot of coverage.  Almost no one has heard of the locations mentioned in the reports, and the major players were not touched.  So try to keep this in perspective and don't go crying that the industry is dead yet.

Hi Bros,

I agree with Kaleu and seriously doubt this is the end for DG.
It is getting the media attention the LE want and a few people got arrested.

6000 LE for 67 arrests? Come on, this can't be a serious raid to stop the activities.
Should be able to arrest more than 67 people at Crown Prince alone on any night of the week!

Dongguan Crackdown

Changping, Changan and Danshui are on SUPER red alert for these 2 days.
I repeat it's super red alert and not just red alert!

Those who want to perform Kamikaze can cheong the Saunas this week!
Good luck to all bros.

But on a serious note every year the crackdowns are getting more and more serious.
This could be the beginning of the end.

If the China govt close all SN in the hotel at CP. The hotel cannot pay the loan to the bank. Hua Mei Tian Lun itself spent 10 millions of RMB to renovate its building, I am very sure they renovate it using bank loan not using their own cash. If the government closes it, how it could get the return of its investment ?? China already had high number of bank bad debt. All those waiters will lose the job also. Does the China dare enough to accept all these consequences when they really want to shut this business in CP?? It will cost hundred millions of RMB to government.........

My theory is the higher up gov't in Beijing just wants to show face because of the News broadcast.
They also want to TONE IT DOWN a lot more.  The industry was getting too big and out of hand, If you look
at other cities like Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Qing Yuan they closed many, many places over the
years, Many places in these cities are gone.  The  industy should return but less places in Dongguan.
The cost of punting might go up a little higher. .Look at the Japanese Orgy in Zhuhai,  look at the 2008 Olympic and the Asian Games in Guangzhou, the industry came back after they tone it down.  If they really wanted to CRUSH the industry in Dongguan I am sure Beijing can do it. Yes, come on, less than 100 arrest with 6000 cops. It was more for publicity and face, in my opinion.

Lucky the raids were after CNY when over 80% of the girls went home and not returned yet.

Just my two rbm.

As long as there are men, there will always be a demand for these services.

It may be the beginning of the end for good value for money services and establishments, but if you go towards the higher end you will always be able to find someone willing to provide them.

The problem is how many punters have been pushed out of reach due to the crackdown since it may push the price up!

IMO there is somewhat of a power struggle going on in the upper tiers of gov.

Yes, this happens every year, but this is quite serious compared to previous raids. It has attracted a ton of notoriety and made DG famous as "Sin city of China "in the world. In my recollection I do not ever recall a raid going this far in terms of news/media. E.X - Featured in NY times, Reuters, worldwide news reports just to show a few:

Reuters
NY Times
HK Apple

Other bro's on other boards have even reported police going into HOTEL ROOMS (not sauna) and questioning regular relationships of guys/girls (so don't think you are 100% safe if you call a girl up to your hotel room, better be prepared and know info about her etc beforehand). There is an article about it below, but it was not isolated to this incident only

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/chi ... mp;isappinstalled=0

BTW, If anyone missed it and wants to watch the whole 4 part series report on youtube (in chinese):

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

I am in CP right now and the wave of terror this has brought is insane. Even a lot of veggie massages included the well known PZL closed for business when this news wave first happened

My friend went to HK on the direct train from CP and it was the first time he saw the whole train EMPTY.

If they continue this, CP will become a ghost-town and collapse on itself

Yes, in a few weeks MMS will try their best to calm the wave and say everything is over but this time I'm not so sure. One thing for sure is that DG's glory days are seemingly over

Maybe they intentionally timed the crackdown to occur now precisely so that most of the girls are still away. And upon hearing about this crackdown they will decide not to return.

CCTV has planned for the news release since December 2013. It sounds like the whole thing was meticulously preplanned at the highest government level.

BTW, I agree with the above that mongering won't completely go away in DG. My point was that it probably won't return to its former glory days of ubiquitous SNs boasting such wide selection and excellent value, which has been the whole point of dragging my butt all the way to DG in the first place. If the mongering scene becomes similar to that of SZ and ZH (relatively narrow variety and expensive), then the attractiveness of DG as the punt capital of choice greatly diminishes. This is the worst-case scenario and I hope I am wrong.
