Age differences here in Asia are not as frowned on or looked at awkwardly as they are in the west. I see many older Chinese gentleman as well as Caucasian gentlemen walking with
much younger girls as it does not seem to raise and eyebrow. Where as in the west when my daughter walks with me arm and arm (Because the little stinker loves the stares!)

I'll attempt to provide another perspective on this matter.
Divorce cases are on the rise in every country, Asian countries included. Most of the divorced guys are typically in their late 30s or above. Some are due to marital issues and some surely are due to being caught playing on the side. Regardless, these guys are now available. Now where do these guys spend their new found freedom? Bars, KTVs, nightclubs you bet! These guys are mostly established, and know what they want. Getting girls of similar age would be difficult. Divorced women tend to not get out that often (I may be wrong) and of course, beyond their prime. So these men will socialise with women in their 20s. KTV girls, WGs, all have their history but if you subscribe to the 'yellow ribbon' programme, everyone deserves a 2nd and 3rd chance. Who doesn't want a decent life? So what's their ticket out? These mature men. The liaison is not all that bad. The man gets a young attractive gal, the gal gets a new lease of life and security that they severely lacks.
As in all relationships, some work, some don't. I used to be critical about immoral activities but maturity and after having tasted the forbidden fruit, I am now a wiser man (of this world). Live and let live. I'm one of the fker that gets the oooh so damn tight and peachy ass and I'm loving it   !!

It's funny how opinions of this societal issue do change over time.  I remember when I was in my early 20s and I'd see a HOTTTTT babe with a seemingly rich middle-aged guy and I would be bummed.  (I lived in Miami and it was the 80s... and I didn't drive a Ferrari.) I also remember my first trip to HK 20-some years ago... and while it was rather easy for me (a non-ugly and non-married Gweilo) to pick-up young Asian cuties, I'd also see a lot of May/December sugar daddy relationships all over.  Now that I'm that middle-aged guy with a thicker wallet... and much thicker waistline... I don't feel guilty at all!  I figure that I use them for sex, and they use me to help provide things that most guys their age likely can't or won't. It's a win/win relationship... but we both know that I will return to my wife and they will one day likely be with someone nearer their own age... albeit with a nicer wardrobe and expensive lingerie paid for by me and/or other guys like me.  Yep... a win/win!   ;)

I have been watching this thread with some amusement.  The question raised was essentially "Is it weird to have a mid 30s or 40s age man dating a attractive woman in her early 20s?"  I think this is the wrong question.  A better question would be "Why would any sane attractive woman in her early 20s want to date a guy her own age?"

Let's face it...  With the exception of sports stars, men generally gain in maturity, status, and wealth as they get older, until they hit a plateau about mid 40s.  Most women want security.  A younger men will either mature and gain status -- at which point he will probably dump the then 30-something woman for a younger and more attractive woman -- or he will wither away, and she will be left attached to a hopeless loser.  

By contrast, by latching onto a mature man, she can get current security and be reasonably assured that he will continue to be attracted to her for the rest of his life.  

I figure the proper age difference between a man and a woman dating in Asia should be about 15-25 years.

I was heading home today on the island tram. At one of the stops in Wan Chai a gorgeous girl dressed for boner attention got on board followed by an older guy about 15-20 years her senior. It was obvious that she was his date for the night. No communication between the two of them, each had their faces in their own phones and one was dressed for success (the girl) and the other like he was on vacation (the guy). Nothing wrong about being comfortably dressed, but it certainly sticks out when he's sitting beside the girl.

Anyways, I thought to myself that I wish I could pick up a girl in Wan Chai with her looks and body. And second, I'd never take the tram home with a date. Take a cab with the girl man!

Everyone knows that girls do not necessarily go after pure youth and looks, like us horny men. Girls are prioritize maturity and stability much much more highly than men do, therefore you see these types of relationships all the time. When I was in my 20's I thought the exact same thing.... but as you get a little older you still want to stay in the game too, so you use other means to attract girls, namely wealth. I guess this game really has no rules - you just do whatever works for you. You will see that very clearly when you get older!
