i thought qatar was a good choice, the WC has never been hosted in the mid east.(although i qas rooting for an aussie wc as this means the timezone is nearer to me)

besides, the aussies will sooner or later host it. its only a matter of time before that idiot sepp blatter gets out of fifa

meaning australia will be up there with the other g-7 nations. the country has a surplus, high interest rates, and good bit of natural resources to sell the growing markets. i think aussie football is on the rise. as the country and football develop more better things are coming when the country hits its big stride. this is the only 2nd time the socceroos have been in the asian cup and making the finals in only 2 appearances is pretty big as asian football is also on the rise as well. wait til china gets things going with their football program

that's a key player that they will need in this big game, so i think the aussies will win 2-1 and it will go into over time. i doubt penalties, but then i could be wrong. i think korea will win the 3rd place match 3-2 over uzbekistan. if they lose it then it is the team's fault for not focusing. hard to rebound from such a heart breaking loss.

korea to clinch 3rd place that's for sure.

as for the final, it really depends alot on japan dealing with the aerial threat, their only attacking hope lies in the form of keisuke honda and the aussies better not give away unnecessary freekicks to him

korea won 3-2 like i said and it was good they were focused. the good thing is that the next asian cup korea does not have to do the qualifying match ups which allow them to rest players. i think the future looks good cause they have a core of young players who play on the international circuit. tonight the aussies take on the blue samurai. GO AUSTRALIA !!!

Damn, Australia should've won that game... they pretty much dominated the whole game! And Harry Kewell had so many chances at goal as well!! Dunno, in my honest opinion... I reckon Japan was just lucky to score that goal

Australia had their chances to win the game big time. I do credit though the Japanese goalie he made some really amazing saves. he was basically the japanese version of the great wall. it came down to one goal and japan was the one to come up with it. funny the japanese player was lee who scored it and he is ethnically korean. 2011 asian cup was a good tourney for 2011. i think the future of asian football looks pretty good.

you're welcome my friend.

who says aussies don't have fresh blood for the future? You've got Saša Ognenovski, who can last another good 4 years (1 more competition) and he is absolutely great (why the hell no european club wants him is a mystery), Mile Jedinak is also another darnm fine midfielder as well man.

what i like about 2011 aussie team despite landing runners up is that they show much respect to the other asian teams in every match so far in the tournament (and have a great deal of consistency in performances) unlike the previous tourney where they expected to sweep up the competition.

i ain't free to go punting in HK yet man. would love to but damm caught up in work and what not, will be planning a trip to there one day soon, and hopefully, get a report out.
