They are Dangerous!!!!

Anybody remember the World Cup Rugby held in South Africa in 1995, when the host won the Final against the mighty New Zealanders?

You know why?
They food poisoning the New Zealand's players on the day before the final match...

I pity Group A Countries this year .... I hope they are ready for some shit fest in the toilet.

Korea is definitely a strong contender in Group B, Park Ji Sung has 3 young, strong supporting teammates to help him out. Also, this team is considered to be at least as strong as the team in 2002.

Japan just ended up with a shitty group, although they have a good team. As for North Korea, they only have that one player who I believe plays in Japan? Not sure...

Best of luck to the Asian teams though... they have been sourly overrated thus far.

Can you restrict your comments on football to the same thread. You have opened up a new thread for every item on team England and Uruguay.

Your comments are welcome and noted.
However, I wonder if there is any forum rule for your stated restrictions.
Btw, England and Uruguay are in different groups and my comments are directed to specific and two different topics.
Do you mean that I should only open 1 single thread and label "WORLD CUP"?

How will Argentina do?

As Messi himself put it, they have the best man for man team. However under Maradona, they havent really impressed that much in qualifying.

What do you think?

...

You are referring Forward No.9 Jong Tae-Se.
He is good but I wonder if he can get enough support and supply from midfield.
Also, he has yet to prove himself in the International stage.

Awesome! first of all... definitely didn't like some of these group lotto picks this year. Some teams (Ahem... Italy and England) are given a gold platter and should have no problem going into the 16's...sure, they are world-class teams, but I would've liked to see a group where three strong teams like Brazil, Germany, and Netherlands duke it out in one bracket.

I feel really bad for South Africa, btw who are heavy underdogs. Even worse, host countries in the past world cups have all made it to the 16s... i really doubt it this year but the beauty of soccer and all sports is its unpredictability.

Maradona is an offensive style manager.

1st match against Nigeria, they playing 3 defenders.

Furthermore, he is on high al the time...

I dont see Argentina going far this year. The midfield line ups  are not impresssive except Di Maria.
Macherano(cap) is a Red Card magnet. The rest are just not up to south american standard.

But then, getting through No.1 in the group is easy for them.

I doubt about Maradona's ability as a manager eg. select Martín Palermo and Juan Sebastián Verón to the team.
I am worry about Argentina future if he field Messi (1.69m), Agüero (1.70m) and Tévez (1.68m) together as forwards.

Who is the best central defence partner with John Terry?
Ledley King? Jamie Carragher? Matthew Upson?

Who is the best forward partner with Wayne Rooney?
Emile Heskey? Jermain Defoe? Peter Crouch?

Any views?

to be honest and for the sake of talking shit on this thread, i really hope Argentina royally fucks up due to their complacency and gives teams like ghana and korea a fighting chance. i was a big fan of crespo, but that was then. their team like bro hunter mentioned is not as glamorous ....

unrelated note, did everyone hear how during their world cup scrimmages, the losing team lined up with their backs facing the winning team who later tried to peg them in their arses?

Messi is a scoring and assist machine, but he needs support from the midfield. Unless he plays like maradona using his hands to dribble accross the defenders...

But we cannot deny the south american to reach the final 4.

Another historical fact.

Never in the world cup hitory, an European Team won the the title outside Europe.

History will repeat itself. So Argentina...maybe...European country byebye.

I personally looking at a lot of upset and surprises in this world cup.

A lot rests on Messi's shoulders, and its true that one man cannot win the game, or can he?? That is to be watched.

I personally dont like Maradona as a coach on and off the field. They have a great history, and I do hope for Messi's sake thatthey reach the final four.

Spain has a very good chance, so do not write off Europe so early.

Also beware of the teams of South Africa, like Ivory Coast. Will watch the match tonight to see how South Africa do.

I think for betting and good payout, I'll put my money on South Africa.
Remember the history lesson I mentioned bout the 1995 World Cup Rugby, they will do it again. You see the france, mexican and uruguayan warm up in the toilet.

Yeah, its was also made into that movie "Invictus" right?

I doubt they would win it, but Im very sure an African nation will make it to the semi final at least.

I dunno, but I just hope Rooney the meat head keeps his mouth shut, otherwise he may get red carded out of the game with his potty mouth.

England should worry about their goalkeeper too I mean Davis James, Joe Hart eller Robert Green, come on.
Overall I think the spanish team is the best team. Messi is surely the best player, but he is not as good when he is playing for his country.

English bookmakers have it at 50-1 that when England plays Argentina in the quarters, Gerrard's gonna mistakenly pass to club team-mate Torres who goes on to score!

LoL!!!
Classic Gerrard's syndrome. Was that the game with Chelsea?
Title chase betw MU and Chelsea. Thanks to Gerrard and Drogba took the honour.

I think u meant Mascherano. Torres is Spaniard.

The ugly truth is, England sucks!!!!

No offence, I love the English, my whole family support England. But I learnt that everytime I bet on England, I lose big time....
