Actually I prefer the boxer look. I have the 3GS....I had the original Iphone before that and I actually like feel of the original compared to the new one.

The almunium on it is a better touch then the plastic on the 3G and 3GS. Also if it's flat unlike the 3G and 3GS it'll sit on a table or barstool lol better.

Just my 2 cents.

wether if its the 4g or not, it surely looks like something that came from apple.
But I am still hoping for a smaller and thinner iPhone with a way better camera.

It is interesting how it was "LOST". Seriously who loses something so important. An apple promo gimick maybe. Either way, i will definity be getting now coz my Nokia N95 8GB has served me well, but its time to move on. Just really hope they improve the battery life. Heard so many bad stories.

After several beers and nasty tequila shots, losing a phone is the least of your worries! I've lost my fair share of phones not to mention other things when extremely drunk.

I agree, after a few drinks especially if you can't handle your booze or can't handle what is ordered for you, losing your phone is the least of your problems.  My ex lost several phones while I was with her because when she starts drinking with her friends, everything is thrown out the window.

HUh.  Looks kinda retro to me.  I know they've been going to aluminum in their Mac cases, but aluminum dents whereas plastic holds up much better in a world of dropped phones.

The face front video camera is gonna be a winner for those who skype a lot!

I didn't do it.  Really I didn't.

I do like the new phone, it certainly is different and distinct from previous models

I just bought a 3G last week and the bleedin' 'Home' button has already broke!! (I think it fell off my bed)

I have the iPhone 3G and I have not change to the 3GS, because I know that there will be a new version with the new OS.
I think for sure the 4th generation will be be more efficient for the multi-task.
Photo will be better.
Let's wait but I think I will buy it.

i believe the new phone that was released was meant to be an "outer shell", at least that was what Apple reported to bloomberg news after the fact

Looks great.
Nice and strong

I'm all excited for this design.  I love it.  Much thinner than my Porsche cell phone, which is also boxy and steely looking.

what type of bugs are you referring to? you must mean more of the apps than the actual interface from apple?

The apple product didn't work...

1st Amendment Rights: Police seize gear from Gizmodo iPhone blogger

Police broke into the home of Gizmodo editor Jason Chen and confiscated four computers and two servers, the tech blog reports. Gizmodo broke the news last week about Apple's next-generation iPhone, after paying a source who found it in a California bar $5,000 for the device.

The officers were from the Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team (REACT), a California law enforcement group based in Silicon Valley. In the search warrant, which Gizmodo posted, REACT officers checked a box indicating that they were looking for property "used as a means of committing a felony."

Since the Gizmodo iPhone scoop broke last week, some have speculated that Gizmodo and its parent company, Gawker Media, might be liable for criminal prosecution for being in receipt of stolen goods under California law.

Gawker has blasted back at the police with seized-property charges of its own, claiming that the police had no legal grounds for seizing a journalist's property. Gaby Darbyshire, Gawker's chief operating officer, wrote to the police that Chen "tells me that he showed you an email I had sent him earlier that day that told him that he should tell you that under both state and federal law, a search warrant may not be validly issued to confiscate the property of a journalist."

In a ruling handed down last week, a New Jersey court determined that a blogger being sued for defamation did not have full standing as a journalist and therefore was not protected under the state's "shield law," which protects journalists from being compelled to take part in court proceedings pertaining to their work. California has a shield law, but there is no shield law that covers federal criminal cases.

In her letter, Darbyshire further explained that Chen "tells me that you ignored him and, having been inside for a few hours already, you proceeded to remove the materials despite his protestations."

Chen said that REACT did not damage his other property — apart, that is, from bashing in his door to get inside while he wasn't home.

There was also some buzz about how Steve Jobs wrote a letter to Gizmodo for ask for the return of that phone. But I think this would be fake. The phone cooould be real I mean the pics looked pretty decent. However I'm not a big fan of the look of that supposedly 4G iphone --- looks too square-ish and not too sleek

Another iPhone prototype surfaces in Vietnam, for sale 4000 USD

Website Taoviet has gotten a hold of another iPhone that looks much like the iPhone Gizmodo bought for $5,000, except perhaps a little more polished.

The big difference is there are two screws missing from this version compared to the earlier Gizmodo-purchased device. This one is also a 16GB model.

A tear down also revealed the next iPhone will be running on Apple's speedy A4 processor, the one powering the iPad. A translation on www.tinhte.com, which has posted pictures and info, said some upcoming iPhones are being offered on the black market for $4,000 though it's unclear if this unit was obtained in that manner.

Not much else to say except that this is another puncturing of Apple's veil of secrecy. It was incredibly rare to come across one prototype, not just fuzzy pictures, but now we have a second piece of hardware to fall into outsider hands. Pretty remarkable.

Apple, I'm sure, will remain dedicated to keeping the wraps on its upcoming devices, but you have to wonder if it's even possible in this age to keep all this stuff secret, especially when so many people are now looking (and willing to pay) to see what's next out of Apple.
