You're not likely to run into any problems except for in the 3G arena (if you care about that) due to a majority of phones these days are compatible with the typical telecommunication broadcast bands are common across the world (ie. 800, 850, 900, 1900, 2100). Calls and sms should not affect you, but if you care about your browsing speed and how much bandwidth your phone's app use, this can be a serious issue, since *some* apps are definitely more bandwidth intensive. Case and point: Youtube.
