As DArtagnan asked I've been thinking about another system.  ;-)

Every comment gets a -1 credit and a +1 credit button and every post shows the total 'credits' it obtained. It will be very quick and easy to give a little acceptance or disapprovement (or do nothing). No need to log who gave what to who. No need to add comment fields to these buttons.

And off course stop all the rest (credits for number of posts, acceptantce,...).

I would keep the existing ranking and let everybody keep their credits.

It requires half a day work by a programmer. Do the moderators actually have personal contact with the management of 141 ? Do they know the 141 programmers ?

I totally get what you're saying in your original post, D'Art.

To be fair, I don't think that we need a new rule set up, becausewe already have the rules in place.

"No one-liners" - "No flooding"

We have these rules for a simple reason, to stop meaningless replies and threads.

Some members follow the rules to the letter, and yet flood the forum with what are essentially repeated paragraph-long one-liners.

I know it's hard to handle for the mods, especially when the posters haven't actually broken any rules, but I hope that the mods and posters can think about the "spirit" of the rules, ratherthan simply following them to the letter.

Meaningless member monologues are much worse for me than a meaningful or amusing one-liner.  I hope they can be treated as "flooding"

I can do it. Just send me the administrator password

Never mind, it was fun to dream a bit.

Now back to the empty comments and childish fights. ... and the very very interesting posts.
