I don't really understand people's love of distilled water in HK.  Distilled water is pretty bad for you since it lacks the ions that your body needs.  You're much better off boiling tap water.  If you insist on drinking bottled water, avoid distilled water.  It does nothing for you.

I was born and have lived here for n years where n>18.
Most of the natives here will boil the water first before drinking.  Swallowing water during
shower won't kill you unless you  also swallow some soap/shampoo.

There are a lots of rusty pipes about so even if the water is okay from the water works; by the time it gets to your tap well....lots of rust etc.

Bottle water is world most environmentally unfriendly product.  Drink it only when you have to.
