City parks are for old men to go to eat their packed lunch cos they got nowhere else to go. Hong Kong has the 100km  MacLehose Trail. Now THAT'S A PARK. I think I read somewhere that HK has the world's highest percentage of its land designated as protected country park.

Yes.... I DO enjoy SFO - played many a Golf game at the Presidio and Golden Gate courses as well as all around the area and usually spend a week or so at least once or twice a year.

Only problem I have is that I usually go up to SFO as a side trip from my longer stay in LA - and in the summer, I NEVER have enough warm clothing to bring up, and those I left behind usually smells mouldy etc.  Summers are TOOOOO COLD in SFO!!

But otherwise - yes SFOis GREAT!!

I rarely get out to those outlying areas so I guess I'm not familiar with HK's natural environment after all. Whenever I'm in HK, I always seem to be stuck in some bldg somewhere escaping from the heat and/or pollution.

Tho, for all that, HK still wouldn't make my list of the world's most livable cities. But I suppose if you had a house in the New Territories and a car to visit these wilderness areas you'd have a different perspective on things.

So I withdraw my criticism - come non detto, as the Italians say.

(p.s. grantorino, is that from the film?)

Yep, I had just seen the film when I had to pick a username.  It's an interesting movie, for sure.
