Yep, Rickards Red is a Canadian beer, and a good one at that.

They're pickled sliced peppers, the red-and-yellow ones you can get put on top of your burgers at Harvey's. (Don't even get me started on *That* one)

QUIZNOS!!!! How about Pizza Pizza or Mr. Sub?

Next time you come down, try Taco Loco in Soho. It's good comfort food.

Quiznos is fucking expensive and overrated.  Having spent many years in Chicago, nothing beats Mr. Submarine for subs.  Home Run Inn for pizza, Maxwell Street Hot Dogs for hot dogs, and Leon's and Carson's for ribs.

Yea, but if you are in HK and the sandwiches are crap..Quiznos is a piece of heaven (besides some ass and nicely pedicured feet)

Haha, We're not from the Windy City, mate, and Quizno's is pretty damn good where I come from.

And I agree with SFMonger, you can't find a decent sandwich in HK to save your life. Try getting a decent steak sandwich, then you'll understand my pain.

However, Dressed is pretty good for salads and Te is good with pasta.

So 56...may I conclude that it is a desert in HK for good YYZ street style dogs?

Next trip from YYZ-HKG I shall have to remember you and ping y'all to see who wants a pack of Shopsy's dogs.

So true about HK sandwiches being crap! Never has subway tasted so good to me

As for hot dogs, I'm embarrassed to say, but I quite like the ones at 7-11!

My shame from the HK menus are the 'dan chee', egg sandwiches, in all the 'cha chaan teng' in HK.  Actually my fave was actually from the food concession on Deep Water Bay where my uncle used to go for his morning constitutional swims.  It was part of the ritual of being in HK for summers growing up.  It may have been the sea air or just the casualness of the dining.

Sometimes atmosphere adds a whole layer to experiences.  I know my liasons with WGs tend to take on a shine whenever they take place in nicer surroundings.  Just like the walk-ups create a tawdry yet stimulating experience.

nothing beats the dogs in toronto or north america, it's better now since they have NY fries here where we can enjoy decent poutine.
I would suggest you make your own dogs at home, buy johnsonville's sussages at super market and grill them at home. Then prepare onions, bacon bits, etc to add on.
