I booked with a girl (hotel res. style) and got a taxi ride to an address (45 minute ride), only to find I had left my mobile phone and the phone number in my hotel. I even tried to find an internet cafe so I could look up the details, but there was not one to be found! So there I was, standing out the front of her hotel, but not able to find out which room she was in! I had no choice and, with my tail between my legs, I got a taxi home. $90USD on taxi's and 2 hours of my life, without a happy ending. Damnit.. Damnit, DAMNIT!!!!!!

I am asian...forget accent. When Hker look at me, they automatically know I am not from around...then the guessing game starts where I am from (which always humors me).  The physical build, haircut, way you dress, color tone maybe, etc...are usually all dead giveaways. Even I am friends from HK but left for 15 or 20+ yrs...then sometimes certain accents creep in & they can sorta tell something is offish if the locals are sharp with their listen skills
