As far as "futbol" goes, I was deeply saddened that this past week, my USA team lost 2 of their 4 best players for lengthly periods of time, to a car accident and a knee injury. And to think that the fucking AC Milan owner wants Team USA to pay up because of their players (Gooch Onyewu) got injured playing in an World Cup qualifier.
Thats tough Bro JeSun. Many don't take the US football (i.e. soccer) team very seriously but really, they have been making
considerable progress for a country where soccer is not as popular as some of the other American sports. Just look at the
recent Confederations Cup. Who would have thought that the US would make it all the way to the final. Its actually a
rather strong team and i dare say quarter-finals at the World Cup 2010 is a distinct possibility. As for AC Milan, its a mercernary
team...no way they gonna get 'compensated' for those injuries. While club managers cringe at the prospect of losing their
players to injury on international duty, its really a part of the game.
Back to the topic, if chess qualifies, then i suppose texas hold'em is a sport as well? They have been putting it on all
the sports channels and it does require skill and there will always be a winner/loser.
