I was just thinking about Weelock's rising visa fees - and the fact that such charges reciprocates what the U.S. government charges visa applicants.... so how come the fees kept on rising?

The APPRECIATING YUAN - compliments of the same U.S. government insisting this!  And you Americans are complaining?  Gotta be kidding!

And come to think of it - this nonsense about the low level of the Yuan being THE factor for the U.S. trade deficit; I read an article about how much money China actually gets to keep (to pay the salaries, construct factories, take care of taxes and other government fees - legal/illegal etc) for assembling an IPhone - something like US$ 5 for what is sold at $400 in the States.

Most raw materials are actually imported into China (with the in-built profits already gouged out!) whilst the rest of the money goes to the U.S. shippers, insurance companies, bank charges, wholesale mark-up, retail mark-up, Salesman commission, Store rents and decoration - and of course profits for Apple/Steve Jobs!! - all U.S. companies/citizens profiting from the actual hard labour of the Chinese worker.

And oh BTW - who owns the factory assembling this? Taiwan based Foxconn owns these factories, where Chinese workers routinely takes free fall flights out of.

SEAJ you seem to be based in China from the weight of reports and info you posted in the China section. You also do know a lot of stuff happening in China. Yet you almost never posted reports from any HK punts. This is very interesting. Don't get me wrong, I am not doubting anything. More amazed actually ...... by the vast China info you have always been able to elaborate.

Few days ago i read some news mentioned that There are more than 1 million people in Thailand infected by HIV.
It means there is 1 man with HIV in every 150 people u meet.
It really make me scared till now.

Anyway, yes, I do concentrate my punting in China and places away from Hong Kong these days for the most part - and will only do so during "emergency" situations or when I need to accompany friends, associates etc to go and do some mongering here.

A bit of history about myself - I never really started P4P mongering until a few years back when I first savored the delights of Geylang, Singapore, Instantly, I was literally "hooked" with the convenience, price and superior experience I have vs. the period when I was going around picking up civvies in Hong Kong.  Took to it like duck to water!

Well, those early days of my mongering I of course sampled many a local delights - until during my business trips, I experienced the superior pricing, quality and services overseas - especially in China! To the point that I now much prefer mongering pretty well exclusively in China.

I've been wondering why is it that not more members - especially senior ones, had not started participating here? I'd like to pick your brains a bit in order to hopefully figure out how to "reach out" to more members without becoming an affront to the sensibilities of others.

I'd like to think and do believe that this thread is quite innocuous and IS developing into a place where guys can go to just to hang out and enjoy some feeling of belonging.  Nothing too weighty, nothing too offensive...and hopefully enjoyable for all.

Appreciate any insight you can provide us with your own experience and road to this thread!

Yes, hang out and get free karma. If you want to see if guys want to hang out, why not just an acceptance point here or there.

SEAJ, I arrived on this thread because the title sounds "anything goes" and I feel maybe I could be more casual than usual ...... like at home ...... farting (when nobody's around), clipping my nails and flossing my teeth haha.

Now the question as to why there have not been as many people participating as you anticipated ...... I think the idea of this thread is absolutely great but obviously all other threads in this chat section could be hijacked by this particular one. In other words they are in danger of being ignored. Just a silly idea of mine and any disagreements or challenges are welcome.

Like the other threads currently high on the list ...... "where can I have anal sex?" OR "red envelope money", people can start talking about those topics right here in your fun thread. Can't they? But then once people start talking about where they could have anal sex for maybe 10 posts consecutively, I could jump in and say "sorry, I hope I am not distracting but may I talk about red envelope money?". I feel rude doing so even though the title of the thread says idle chat.

People who wanted a little more COMMITMENT to a particulat topic and yearn for more formal CONTINUITY may be a little uncomfortable. I am completely at ease hence I mingle in.

Oh I KNOW you're a bit disturbed by my liberal K giving - but I'd like for you to see that its really NOT that big of a deal. IMHO, certainly a more meaningful use of K giving vs some I've seen practised AND  I hope well appreciated by the receiver....and in line with my belief that it IS important to make everybody feel welcome here.

Why is it practically a "Must" that one write up a report before he can get awarded K's? Yeah, OK, K's for good reports but why NOT K's if I want to say thank you, welcome, Hey that's funny, great that you agree - in other words, like just saying thank you in real life for just day to day courtesies?  What's wrong with that?  Why would ANYONE find this wrong behaviour?

Edit - Why is it De-rigueur that K's are right now only given for "reports?"  That it seems to be a rule that you can ONLY use K's to say thank you, thanks for the report?  This to me totally devalues the meaning of K giving - when guys just naturally give K's when he sees a report, more K's if accompanied by Pixs.
K's are a thrill to receive - but I see that in many cases, they were given for a nebulous reason. Nurturing membership, caring about each one of us - now THAT is a worthy method to use K's! Of course IMHO only

Actually i find some of the posts here very good, and some of those are worth being awarded, but perhaps could be used sparingly, but it has reached a point that everybody is expecting to get k everytime they post (unless you run out of course ) Just my POV. Do as you please, however,as this thread is in good hands.

That's a VERY good observation and insight - the preference for some to have "ownership" of topics, worries that HIS topic is going to get short shrift and get buried amongst all the other topics continually evolving here.

But I've always maintained that if a topic is weighty enough - the poster SHOULD put up a separate post.  But even if he still remains here - I would like to think that he would in any case have a larger audience than if he has a stand alone thread. And it's NOT that difficult for the OP to steer the "audience" back to wherever he wants them to concentrate on..... or even come back to it days after.

As it is, I see sooo many topics put up that disappear just as quickly - must be in the thousands!  So what's the use of having put up such a topic that's discussed by a limited number of participants - and forgotten within days if not hours.

but your observation is probably spot on - and I guess we here need to figure out a way to make them see that its NOT a bad thing to post up topics here like a lot (most) of us are already doing.

Sorry to belabor - but I do want to actually dissect and dvelve into this matter of how K''s are at present being used.

The more I think about it, the more am I convinced that there is something fundamentally flawed with the way we all have been using K's.  

Strictly to say "Good Report?"

Isn't that how it is now being used pretty well strictly and in most cases?

Can you really trust the figures thrown out?

In any case, I'm always an advocate of FULL condom usage with ANY females - of course with the exception of your own SO!

SEAJ, the reason I found out about this thread this late was that I seldom browse outside the HK section. Before I started posting reports I used to browse in more sections. Probably I visited the CHAT section every second day if not everyday then. But once I started posting reports, making replies to my reports and replies to similar reports by other members in the same HK section, I realized I was spending too much time on this 141 forum. And then browsing outside of the HK section apparently has to be sacrificed a bit. I am sure there are more members discovering your thread everyday.

There is actually something similar in the Chinese forum I came across a while ago, that thread reached over 40 pages long. I am sure your charisma will help your thread build and beat that Chinese one easily, just a matter of time.
