British passport or HK ID

Have heard that a few people have had a few run ins with the police on here.

Just wondering, should that ever happen to me would it be better to have my British Passport or my Hong Kong ID to show to the police? (I was born in England but I qualified for a Hong Kong ID because my parents were born here)

Would it make a difference?

UK passport definately (enter on HKID card) and speak English to the cops if you encounter them, it switches the balance of power to you sure they can speak rudimentary English, I was stopped 2 times in HK last trip , I spoke to them in English saying I spoke no Canto or Mandarin, they were often surprised and ended the encounter pretty sharpish.

I most definately do not call cops Sir, like other HK people do,.

Actually when I went through passport control I didn't get a stamp on my passport because I used my HK ID card.

If, god forbid, the police ever stop me and look at my passport they're going to wonder how the hell I managed to get in the country.

I know we aren't breaking any laws but why is it better to have a foreign ID and act like a foreigner?

You were stopped by police?  You dress like the local triads or something   What happened and what did you do?  I haven't had any problems with the police, try to avoid them when I'm out mongering especially when I'm ringing agents - have a look around for them before I make the phone call just to avoid any hassle.  I'll no doubt speak to them in English if one speaks to me in hope that it'll get rid of them quicker.  Looking at things, think I'm most likely to get stopped by one when crossing the road before the green man comes on.  People in HK clearly need to be educated with the green cross code including the adults.

But if you English is not perfect or close to native level, and you look or are Chinese..it might work against you.  The cops will consider you a cocky smart ass and give you a harder time.  I am Asian American and speak perfect cantonese and english, the key is to be polite and courteous and 9 out of 10 times, the cops in HK are pretty nice and polite...except if you actually committed a crime...in which case they still will usually be very professional.

No I havent been stopped by the police. I was just asking IF it did happen would it be better to have a British passport or a HK ID to show them? But I just realised I cant show them my passport because I didnt use it to get through immigration at Chep Lap Kok airport so I didn't get a stamp to prove I went through. I used my HK ID instead.

Im a British Born Chinese guy and I speak perfect English (much better than my canto) with a London accent so ill have no problems fooling the cops.

Am I right in thinking police in HK seem a bit more nosey in these sorts of affairs? In England the police never seem to bother anyone going to see a WG.

Really?  I would have thought you'd be more likely getting hassle from the police in the UK - I would have thought it's still a gray area in the UK depending on the area that you're mongering in.  I wouldn't walk into a 141 building if a copper is stood right outside it or make a phone call to an agent while standing right next to one just in case they're in the mood to hassle you and wind you up.  I don't think the cops here in HK are able to distinguish where you're from nevermind which part of that particular country just judging from your accent.  You could switch from scouse, to geordie and then to cockney and they probably wouldn't realise lol

There is a post out there somewhere regarding this subject matter and many bros have disussed this subject.  Of my six years of mongering here, I was stopped once in some residential buidling in North Point.  At that time, I was quite an amateur in this hobby and was scared shitless to say the least when they stopped me.  I remember it was a rookie female cop and a police sergent.  They kept asking what the hell I was doing in that building and I kept telling them just visiting a friend and would not tell them my real purpose.  Thye asked waht friend, whats the name..blah blah blah.  They searched me and found my hit list for taht building...and the female cop kept asking me my real purpose and I stick to my orignal story.  Finally the sergent said you are looking for "fun" right and told me to just admit it..not wanting to  incriminate myself, I denied everything.  After 10 minutes of this back and forth bullshit, they realized this is going no where and the more senior cop just let me go after running a check on my ID.  Later I found out there had been numerous break in's recently and they were jsut doing routine checks on the place.  Thinking back, the cops could have booked me for lying to a police officer if they really wanted to fuck with me.  If you have no contrabands on you and have no warrants for an arrest, there is nothing to be worried about.(also if you did not come to this city illegally)

In the UK it's predominantly "escort" services. So you are paying for the girl's time and anything that happens is between two consenting adults.

I've been to massage parlors too but not enough times to judge properly whether or not raids happen. But I have been about 20 times with no trouble, so I would say if the do happen then it's not frequent. I've not tried walkups in Soho before though, so these could be a "hot" area.

Mainly, I think the police in the UK only really go after curb crawlers, as that is more visible. I think Kings Cross got a big crack down some years back. And the few sites I saw with that sort of info were out of date (this was abuot 4 years ago).

The other way round. I stop the police.

The only thing I can say, hk cops doing their round are bias and partial!!

You can carry a kilo of powder and no blue uniform will stop you.......if you dress appropriately.

CGE, those cops outside the hotels / brothels / walk up buildings are just doing their rounds. They do not give a fuck of punters coming in and out. Do you really think they don;t know what we are up to and WGs in the da house? These are the cops u least worry, they do not have authority to check or catch punters/WGs....not their call.
Those dress up in normal attire (non-uniform) are the one you should be worried about.

Bro perfectcrime:

HKID or British passport: It doesn't matter one bit which you show if you've done nothing wrong.

The first time I was stopped was also in North Point. I was scared and tried to say I was just visiting a friend and shit. The cop just told me to tell the truth that I was there to visit a 141. He said it was not illegal and there's no need to try to lie about it. He said he himself goes to hostess bars when he's off duty... After that time, I didn't care about them being around in 141 buildings. If they want to see my ID, they can, but then I just carry on as normal and knock on all the doors looking for a hot girl to shag, right in front of them! It's legal, so what's the problem?!?!

Hope this puts your mind at rest!

I read a post a while ago that said on a raid not much happens... they just take your details.  So what's the deal with the non-uniform police?

I read this by you in the sauna thread http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... ge%3D1&page=13:

"There are 2 types of raids ... or checks to be more accurate ...

First is by the police - they always check the daily sauna log-in book and the IDs of the girls, 50% of the time they
also check the IDs of the clients. Unless there are unusual activities in the area, or if the sauna has been targeted
by the police, checks are weekly or bi monthly.

Second is by the licencing authority, the inspectors check the daily log-in book and the IDs of the girls only.
Unless they are accompanied by the police, they do not check the IDs of clients.

During a police check you are required to produce your ID and if they ask, your address - that is all (unless you
are on their wanted list) It may feel strange during a check but its not that bad ! Every sauna in HK - veggie or
not will be chacked from time to time, not really that big a deal, but it may just put you off from continuing
with the massage.

Veggie saunas usually will be checked less frequently then other types of sauna."

No big deal. I was trying to stress that we never know who is the real cop should there be a sting/raid. If you are with a HKID WG, no prob, they leave you alone.
However, if you are with non-HKID WG, then they will just take down your details and get you to attest that you are dealing business with her. The cop or station will not bother you no more after the spot details taken from u.
But it is kinda uneasy and unpleasant to be caught in the middle of the session.

No, that wasn't it but thanks for looking it up !

That piece I wrote was about an incident where I was almost detained
during a police raid at a walk up in TST some years ago ... I was threatened by the cops  etc etc ...
they did the bad cop / good cop trick to frighten me etc ...
but in the end I walked away knowing my rights and making friends with the senior officer there !

I'm not sure if the piece I wrote was a follow up in another bro's thread or something like that
but if someone can find it ... it should be good reading for newbies who's afraid about getting
on the wrong side of the law when they monger !

else's but I did a search last night and couldn't find this as my own thread.
