4 days in Macau too much?

Hey bros.   trying to organize my trip in a couple of months.  just wanted to see what other bros opinions were of 4 days in Macau.  is it too much?  i would imagine after like the first couple days one would be tired of the saunas.  i know theres other stuff to do there ktv, guesthouse clubs...but to me macau is too structured to have too much fun for more than like 2 days.   Even the ktvs are sold in packages if i'm not mistaken?

another thing is i fly in early in the morning (5-6 am) and i dont think they have ferry from hkia til 11.  and getting into macau saunas at that hr would kind of lame no?

just wondering if it would be worth it to sclep it to CP for a couple of days first.   thanks for your thoughts.

It really depends on what you like doing..

I find one or maximum two days more than enough for Macau -- but that's just me.  I have no interest in gambling at all, and the clubs start waaaay too late for my liking.  After trying a couple saunas and maybe a show I am ready to head back to HK -- where the nite-life is about 10,000 times more interesting, varied, and fun.

Again though... it really depends how you like spending your free time.  I am not a fan of Vegas either, whereas many others love Vegas and would love Macau for the same reasons....  For me, Hong Kong beats them hands down.

I'd say it could take you a couple of evenings to get the hang of the place. By that time, you will likely either be addicted or bored

As a Macau addict, I find 5 nights is good, but the problem is what to do during the day time. Take-out lounge girls, or we chat connections (exceptionally easy in Macau) are good solutions if, like me, you are not a gambler. If you like gambling, the casinos are happy to take your money 24 hours per day.

One solution that you might find acceptable is to plan a weeklong trip to HK, and then travel to Macau by ferry as many times as you like during that time. Although it might seem like a lot of trouble to take the ferry each day, I must say it is very easy. I find the time is good for reflection and planning, or snoozing. A typical day might be: wake up in HK, punt or see the sights in HK during the noon/afternoon. Take 6pm ferry from Shun Tak, buying a package (which makes the ferry ride free). Arrive Macau 7pm, clear customs in 5 minutes. Walk/taxi to favorite sauna. Be in sauna by 7:30pm. Stay for 4 - 6 hours. Take ferry back to HK. Sleep.

If doing this kind of thing, a great hotel to stay at is the Bauhinia Hotel, which is right opposite Shun Tak in Hong Kong. Reasonably priced, and you can essentially fall out of the ferry and into bed.

One downside of this approach: No hotel room in Macau to take take-out girls to.

So, some kind of HK/Macau hybrid might make the most sense. A few days in HK, then a few in Macau.

I agree that 2 days in Macau is plenty.  If you take the 11am ferry you can shop at the Venetian, or sight see, or hop over to Zhuhai.  Then around 6-7 hit the spas.  I don't gamble either, and once you see the sights Macau becomes a one trick pony.  Or pinoy, if you prefer.

I'd say two days at most. That's 48 hours. Let's just say that you sleep for 8 hours a day and eat for 30 minutes each at breakfast, lunch and dinner. You're also walking around from location to location so let's add another hour per day for that. That brings you to 21 hours spent on non punting regular stuff, leaving you 27 hours.

I don't know how much time you spend in a sauna, and I've never been myself yet, but let's just say that it's 3 hours (I'd get bored after 2 hours I think). That's potentially 9 saunas that you could go to all back to back. You must have a supercock there! But let's just say that you hit up 4 saunas -- two a day over two days. That still leaves you with 15 hours to spend. You could just do the tourist thing and visit the sights or go to the various casinos.

4 days would be crazy. Unless you really, really want to have sex as many times as possible.

Just to add a little to what has been said previously:

Whether 2 days is enough or not depends on the kind of mongering you do. If you just want to pick a girl to have sex, I'd say those saying 2 days is enough are absolutely correct. There's nothing particularly special about the sex in Macau, with the possible exception of being able to choose from a large line-up (even that is available in some other places).

But if you enjoy more of a KTV-style of mongering, where you mix it up with pros and semi-pros, I'd say you could enjoy it for a lot more than 2 days, especially if you are coming from far away.

My personal opinion, 4days in Macau would involve a BIG budget.  Two will probably be just right.

This sort of invalidates your advice...

I doubt you would get bored in just two hours.  You just don't go to a spa and pay that kind of money to run in and run out like that.  There are better options if that is all you want.  While I may not be on the level of ggherkin, I usually spend more than 4 hours when I visit a spa.

Eat, watch a show, choose a girl, come back and relax, watch another show, eat, and leave.  That will run you up to 4 hours.  If you get any lounge massages and/or take a nap you can easily hit 6 hours.

If you go with a friend  the time will really fly by.

Yeah, you can easily kill 4 or more hours in a sauna.  Go to totally relax and enjoy the atmosphere, Bro.  Enter, grab a comfy seat, eat something.  Get a leg or thigh or shoulder rub by some pretty gal and enjoy chatting her up;  view the "show" as the gals line up for other Bros;  finally pick one yourself; bang yourself silly with this lovely little gal; go back and relax again with some food and another leg or shoulder massage.  Enjoy the whole experience.  I DO love macau saunas -- they are an absolutely sublime experience.

But after 2 days and visiting two of them I don't need more of Macau -- back to Wanchai to enjoy the nitelife!!

One of the things I like about spending time in a sauna is it's quiet, making it an ideal place to chat with the girls. For me, nightclubs are just too noisy, at least the ones I've tried. But to others, that same quietness is going to come across as boring. I've always been one to bring my own kind of entertainment, or make entertainment with whoever I'm with. Perhaps that's why I can stay so long in a sauna. I love the quiet interactions with the girls in the lounges.

Dunno, I still say it's an addiction in my case

I thought all that extra stuff like leg and shoulder massages cost extra $$? Is there free wifi at saunas?

Yeah, Freelancer, all these extras are indeed charged - but they are not overpriced.  I cant recall now, but I think a leg massage (20 minutes) is about $120HK or so (and she'll give LB a few light rubs as well).  If you get a thigh message she'll rub LB a lot!

thanks for all the replies guys.  i dont gamble either so i can't /don't want to pass my my time doing that.   i will also be going with a couple of rookies (to asia punting) so i have to watch out for them as well.   i'm leaning towards 2 days each in cp and macau.   my favorites is the cp bbs!   fresh bumpkins!    only drawback is it might be too much for my friends...they don't speak mando so they will prob not enjoy cp as much as macau.   oh well ...they'll have to take one for the team (me)  hehe.

My wingman and I have finished work Friday, played that night in Macau, then went to CP (via HK) for Saturday night.  We even had time for a long veggie Footie before the shenanigans began Sat. night.  Then back to HK Sun. morning, and back to work on Mon.

You probably don't need these recs, and these are certainly far from the only choices in CP, but I'm gonna post'em for anyone considering doing the Macau-CP double-header--we used these resources and were very satisfied.

Thanks for giving me credit, but I had no idea what CP was at all.  Please, do tell.  I have 14 days in HK/Macau in December and if there is something better than Pattaya where I was planning an excursion, I want to know!

Is the KTV scene in Macau diminishing. ?   The KTV in Rio ceased trading earlier this year and wondered if this is to do with recession.   Also, there do not appear to be many Vietnamese working the saunas anymore.  Visa issues?

i'm not sure if the ktv scene is diminhisng there or not but i always wanted to try it. From reading this forum the ktvs in macau just seems like a sauna without the sauna and in a ktv room.  you buy a package for a set period of time in the ktv room and then go upstairs to a room for an hr.  is this correct?   if it is it seems kind of lame....sometime you are just in a mood to drink longer than that.  and also the girls will have multiple customers that night whereas in china they will only have one (you). can anyone chime in on this?

IMO, 4 days is a bit much for Macau.  There's not much to do outside of the usual.  It's too small, and too centralized.  And to make it worst, the macanese are by far some of the most unfriendly people I have ever met in Asia.  They all seemed to have a huge chip on their shoulder, and to top if off, most of the ones I met were not exactly the brightest bunch... from villa staff, floor managers, and general employees.
