well..in terms of financial security and achievement perhaps men at 40 are at their prime, so this could still attract or buy them girls and the good life.  but physically he's going downhill and that's what sucks.

This is a guy's statement. What kind of guy? A guy for whom women are nothing but cunts. The only thing this statement says is that the guy uttering it is a fool.

In most countries (esp. in the West), women hold important positions in society - doctors, scientists, teachers, politicians, everything men do - and their lives have significance far beyond whether or not some half-wit considers them sexually desirable. There is also the moral principle that requires respect for all people - not much fun, I know, but there you have it.

The dregs at the bottom of a tea pot are discarded - should we toss our wives into the trash on their 40th birthdays? And our mothers and daughters? No? - and why is that? Could it be because we are able to see them as something other than cunts. What about somebody else's wife/daughter/mother?

Ask the women in your lives what they think of the above statement

Marsupial's post is above respect for women in the Western society, which does not tolerate discrimination against women... as a matter of fact, in the US society women was discriminated against because of the belief that there are inferior... and hence cannot make political judgement (women are not allowed to vote until 1920 - please correct me if I am wrong)... so the disrepect of women is generally historic, in western or in eastern societies.....

I guess he twisted his agruement a bit at the end and make it a bit too personal, just as I did when we talked about father taking son to punt.... and I say what about daughter...

There seems to be a bit of an emotional touch when ever someone mention about one's family... and I think we could be over protecting .... if we believe what we are doing (punting) someone's daughter or wife or girl friend (through 141), then it is a fact that these women have father, husband or boy friend... they are simply human being....

I think this topic is purely historical.... and the lack of respect in women is abound in the old Chinese society or to a certain extent in the modern world, but I would say as education level increase, with equal right to college degree and earning power... we will see that women in Hongkong and China will be less exploit of in the future....
