Duplicate wallet for mongering only

When I am trying a new provider I have never seen before, I take an old empty wallet with nothing but cash inside.  I reason: if I am hassled like yobkitoki's negative experience in ShenZhen, then I should loose only the money and not much else.

Any other bros do the same ?

I guess that's an option, but why not just take cash sans the wallet?

I would have a wallet with just enough cash with a little extra for tip.  Also have my ID on me and that's pretty much it.  Keep it simple.

For me, i just take cash amounting to the fee of the girl and an extra 100 or so if i want to tip. I usually place it in just one of my pockets. Then a few extra cash and an octopus card for me to get around and back to the hotel/place where im staying. worked so far

I agee, you just take what you need with enough for a tip.  That way there are no surprises.  I have been doing this for years but never had any issues - but I feel it is just a matter of time.

In HK, don't forget your ID card in case the cops ask you for it. Whenever they stop you at a walk- up, they always ask for it. If you don't have your ID, it could be real hassle, involving going to the station or getting someone to bring it!

Point taken.  This is true in most cities of the world.  You should ALWAYS hae viable ID on you at all times.

good idea!  I have had this mini wallet with me that has not been put to good use.  I would also recommend carrying the octopus card for those in HK.  I am also considering getting an additional cell phone with Data to mask my activities from any would be future GF/wife

I do the same a wallet with cash + octopus card only, wouldn't want to lose debit/credit cards in a foreign country. Also makes it easier to stop spending so much money.

Thats a good idea about taking a duplicate of your ID, but I wonder if that would be accepted if you were pulled up for a check.  A copy of ID is pretty suspect in itself.

I got queried about this once in China. I told them the truth, that I was concerned that the original would be stolen and if they really needed to see it then we could go back to my apartment. They let me go without incident.

Good to see it worked for you. If it was me with my luck they would arrest me for a fake ID.

Hi guys, finding the info provided in this site amazing.

The above are great tips!
I am always paranoid about my wallet and phone etc when I am with WGs.

So may be next time I should just ditch the wallet!! Simple tip but just never thought of by myself. Haha.
Cheers

Hotel Room

I used to do basically the same thing when having a WG come up to my hotel room, before I was living here.  Hong Kong or China if I called an escort, before she arrived I would kind of have fun to check the room out carefully and try to decide the best hiding place for all my valuables besides just the cash I needed for the girl.
It is amazing the places that you can find to stash stuff in some hotel rooms.
I am also always worried about this when I do a HG and she does not want to shower with me.  I get a bit freaked out about need to be able to see my pants.

Getting a little off the original question, but I use a lockable bag to secure all my valuables when I'm in a hotel (not just when a gal is there - can't always trust those hotel staff...). Check out the link here for some ideas - http://www.pacsafe.com/www/index.php - I use a Duffelsafe ( http://www.pacsafe.com/www/index ... on=detail&id=23 ) and just put everything in that and lock it up - it will even hold a video camera or laptop. Very good for piece of mind. The only downside is you still have to carry a key - difficult when you are planning on getting naked!

Also, don't trust the hotel safes. If you don't believe me, just tell reception you have forgotten your code or lost your key... They will have a master key. I have had stuff taken from a "locked" hotel safe.

Nice bag.  How practical is this though?  I have no idea where I'm going to get a pole in my hotel room to lock up the bag.  Unless it's in a kinky hotel room .  Can't they just cut through the bag?

or just cut the cord and take the whole thing!, you would be making it easier for them by putting all your valuables in the one spot.

I have no qualms leaving valuable in the safe of a reputable hotel, you are more likely to get robbed while walking in the street than have the staff of one of these places do a number on you. Nothing is 100% secure.

It can be quite risky having a laptop sitting on your desk when they are doing cleaning (door is wide open often) so i always hide things like that
