Currently, jailbreak for iOS4 is only available for the 3G and 3GS iPhones. For the 4G version, you'll gonna have to wait a little longer. Just Google limera1n for details.

There are a number of mobile phone providers in HK that will offer the iPhone 4G - Three and Vodafone - this month and others - PCCW and CSL - in August.

Of course they will provide the micro-sim card as how else to use the phone

I am surpriced that so few complained about the micro-sim card. It pretty much binds you to use their standard Its almost like their sucky minidisplay port instead of a HDMI.

Today consumer reports came out and did not recommend the iPhone 4. Their tests show design flaw with the antenna on the outside. With an outside antenna touching the human hand it conducts electricity which creates interference.  It sounds like this is engineering 101 but what is wired is that it is only one part of the antenna on te lower left side

When the iphone 4 gets released in Canada, apple is going to be selling it unlocked.  So I would assume that they are going to do the same for other countries.  Why not wait a bit and no have to go through all the hassle of jailbreaking the iphone and you will be eligible for all the updates and not have to bother with unlocking it again once you update the software.

likely to be more prevalent now that the US has determined that jailbreaking is legal--owners can jailbreak to purchase apps that are not offered on itunes.  apparently there are lots of these out and there are non itunes app stores that have been doing pretty well.  until now though people did not know whether or not it was legal, so many stayed away from it.

Like others suggested, iPhone is still in the works.

For Iphone 3G, with version iOS4, there are jailbreaks with snowbreeze, redsnow, and purplerain to name a few, with the 3GS, it is abit trickier if you updated the broadband signal yet, newer broadbands with 3GS is not easy to jailbreak/unlock at this time.

Jailbreaking would be breaking the software so you can customize you phone as well as downloading apps for free.

Unlocking is the ability for any carrier to use the phone, important for travellers who frequently go outside the country and get temporary SIM cards.

I suggest if your computer & mobile phone knowledge is not good enough, don't try to jail break your iPhone coz you will take a risk for failure !!! Moreover the apps in iTunes are not all expensive !!!

Today, Apple released the iPhone 4 on the HK Apple Store website.  Its the only (legit) place in HK that you can buy the phone without a contract.  If you get this version, no need to unlock, but still need to jailbreak (if that's what you want).  I saw online that there's already at least 2 jailbreak methods for the iphone but in my experience it usually take a little while before someone puts out a "jailbreaking for dummies" kind of program that is basically plug and play.

Not sure about the jailbreaking but I've just sent mine back, battery was no better than my old 3g and the I kept having the signal problem.  Tried it in a case to stop this but just felt cheated at not being able to have the lovely stainless showing.  The display was great but I've decided to stick with my 3g for monging and my bb for work.  I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you are wanting to upgrade to the 4 for the better battery, don'tbother.

Pretty bold move returning the 4. Reports are that very few have done it.  Are you spur on apple.
