why would they ask you that as a opening line?  As in they go after married men...i would be major weary about that

In my experience with a bar senario, that never happens. A few times they will ask if you are in a relationship only if they are seeking one themselves.  The married question specifically...no.

If i am married, then i'll say 'Yes'. Got to agree with Bro DArtagnan on the thing about
confidence but also, for some warped reason, quite a number of girls like their flings
married.

Don't ask me why but my married mates are always successful in pulling some bird they
met at a club. And their success rate far exceeds the single guys.

Married guys are easier to shake off after the deed - they don't get quite so clingy as the needy nerdy ones!

Thats an interesting theory actually. I used to think that it was usually the guy trying to
shake off the girl in such situations. But yes, your view has merit to it - women are
playing on the same field as men these days so there is a distinct possibility that their
game plan has evolved as well.

One of my thoughts was that some women (and men for that matter) are attracted to
someone or something otherwise unavailable to them. The ability to "have" that person
they desire, whatever the social taboo, excites them or something.

Maybe i should start telling the hot bird at the club or disco that i've been faithfully married
for years - that may get her going!

^^that is true. married men are like single women magnets.  I don't pursue women socially; I have to ward them off way way way more than when I was single.

whats insane is sometimes they try even harder when you refused them. i was rather flabbergasted... to top that off, its the hot ones too!

Let me get this straight: she sees that you're not wearing a wedding ring but you tell her you're married anyway?  Why not get a ring then in order to complete the scene?  Like that girls can target you from a distance in the club.

I do concur that the question gets asked a lot in Asia, it's nearly the first thing I hear from a girl.

RICO, you just took the words out of my mouth.  Same for me here, heading out with the wife then ring is on.  But when the boys come to play then the ring stays home.  A super hottie asks, the standard answer is no, not married.  Nasty chick asks then for sure married.

i would say that i got married for a reason and will stay true to those reasons. therefore, my answer to this question would be "yes i am."

however, it depends on your intentions really. if you are intending to take things further, then your answer would be obvious, and nothing wrong with that. but when you play this game, keep one thing in mind. sometimes once things get started, it might not easily go away and can cause you much grief and regret later on. so its sort of like gambling. if you win, great! but dont play unless you are comfortable losing it all.

i guess that would be the major difference between hobbying and getting involved with anothergirl in real life. hobbying is cut and dry, ends when the session is over and everyone involved is clear about the situation. but real life situations involving deception, if it should get that far, involve emotions, relationships, anger, grief, regret, etc.

so, its a big gamble if you are to play that game. if you win, it may be great! but i wouldn't play unless you are prepared to possibly lose it all.

I would say no, simply because I'm not married, but maybe it would be a bad move. I might as well say I have a girlfriend because some women seem to be more attracted to a guy who's not single. But I really don't know what is the best move so I'd only say the truth.
