#8 Post at 18-10-2009 12:38  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Reply #4 Finn's post If there is an exchange of fluids, you could be in danger.  Time is not a significant variable that comes into play.  If she's doing BB with you, there's a good chance that she's doing it with others.  Also, if she's doing it with you and others, that means she may have a "I got nothing to lose" attitude since she may have sth already.  Like what TB already said, get yourself tested and put yourself on the bench for a while, even with SO preferably.  Get tested now and in 3 mths since things like HIV are not detected straight away.

Why 3 months: HIV has a window period of 3-6 months.  That means, it will take that amount of time for tests to reliably detect the presence of antibodies against the infection.  It is only after that window period does the infection reach the next stage "seroconversion" - detection of antibodies.   Why now: STD testing can locate STDs with a very short window period.   Also, you may already be a HIV carrier from a previous experience (though this may be very remote it is still a possibility).  So, by having the tests now, if you have anything, then you can receive treatment and the BB WG can be informed so as to get her tested and minimise the risk of her passing things on to others. Tests can be performed at Human Health, for instance.

I don't know where they'd do this in HK but it's not too hard to find in the U.S.  It used to be the standard for porno stars several years ago (but I don't know if it still is).
