how i wish Lin can play point guard for the Chinese Basketball team in the Olympics in the future.

During the Olympics, Asia has always been given 1 slot and its almost always taken by CHINA to represent Asia becoz of Yao Ming, Yi Jian Lian and Wang Zhi zhi.
Chinese team has the size to compete against the best of the world but they just dont have a very good point guard to create scoring opportunities for the BIG men.
Lin will certainly make the Chinese team very exciting to watch.

even with the best point guard on earth wouldn't do very much to improved their game.  as of now & past 10yrs or so,  China bred players don't have the fundamentals, conditioning, instinct, etc.  Perhaps in the upcoming decade or two, that may change.

While Linsanity continues in the States and throughout Asia, the effects didn't merely remain as an entertainment gossip, but it led to an auction of his autographed basketball that may positively influece and change the lives of the youth in Taiwan benefitting from the fundraiser.

New York Knicks Jeremy Lin’s distant aunt, who serves as a legislative representative in Taiwan, recently auctioned a basketball that she had Lin autograph during his visit to Taiwan last August. While her initial bid was 1,000 NTD, the final bid came out to be 300,300 NTD or roughly $12,000. Together with other donations, the total fundraised was 1,500,300 NTD, all of which will be donated to a church in Changhua County, Taiwan, to help built a home for children and youths from disadvantaged homes.

Seeing how well the auction went, Lin's distant aunt donated half a million NTD and MAXXIS, the manufacturer of the basketball, donated 700,000 NTD seeing that the ball was a souvenir edition and together celebrating the success of this philanthropic event.

Lin’s distant aunt, the purchaser of the basketball, and a representative of MAXXIS tire will together go to the children and youth facility of the church in Changhua County to make the donation, where together with local churches they would show their care for children from disadvantaged homes.
