I think there is an imbalance in the numbers, and believe a lot of the imbalance is simply explained the historical fact that Europeans were a seafaring imperialist culture for the past many centuries, whereas Asians have tended to stay at home.  Inevitably it's been Western men hooking up with non-Western lasses for the most part ...

As it happens, these days there's more travel from Asia, and I think we'll be seeing a lot more Asian men marrying Caucasian women.  I know several such couples in my circle, and they seem to be just as happy as any other mixed couple.  The story of Bruce Lee is just one such example.  

Hybrid vigor is well documented, it works in humans just as effectively as it works in other life forms (plants and animals included).  
And given the evolutionary advantage of mixing genes it's no surprise that being different (call it "exotic") is very stimulating sexually, to both genders!  Easy to observe in humans, it's also been observed in monkey tribes.  

BTW on a more practical note for those considering entering an intercultural relationship: there's been some research that suggests a couple is more likely to last together if as a couple they adopt the culture of the woman for their home life.  Without debating the reasons why, just bear that in mind when you make your choices.  Guys, don't expect your girl to adapt to your culture and your needs too much otherwise you're setting yourself up for a probability of failure.

then you really dont know what you're talking about. if as you say above (# of males/ # of females) = 1.06, this means for every 100 females, there are 106 males. or to use your terms, for every 100 women, there are 6 extra men.

As for my belief of why there aren't more white girl and asian guy couples, I think it boils down to one pretty obvious reason:  Asian guys are usually shorter in height and hot white chicks are still generally pretty tall.  So while I hate to admit it, we all know that girls tend to dig taller guys...  Sucks for me!

You think so? I think that Asian girls actually dig alpha guys even more, even though they don't outwardly show it. It's like how guys have trophy wives, a lot of girls (including Asian girls) like to brag to their girls about how manly/macho their guy is.

I've noticed while walking in malls, out in bars etc... that there is an increase of tall white girls (model types, russian looking) with Chinese guys. The guys usually looks like they've got deep pockets. I think that some are realizing that there is potential in China/HK and are coming over here to dig.

I could be wrong of course, but it's the impression I get.

I think most men and women typically have an inherent attraction towards their own race, but due to how society has developed, certain societal factors have made people prefer members of other races. I think in many cities in Asia, foreigners (whites especially) are often of a higher socio-economic status due to a large professional expat population. That being said, the wealth associated with these expats are typically men, while white women aren't viewed with any particular favoritism. In fact, many white women I see in Asia I tend to assume are there because their boyfriend/husband moved there for work. Yes, I realize that many hold high profile jobs and are here on their own, but I think that's more of the exception than the rule.

Btw, I think we should make a specific distinction between these differences in Asian countries vs Western countries, cause I'm quite sure there are different forces at work.

The asians I have dated have said they prefer white guys because they are more masculiney than asian men. I didn't get it until I went to a large asian event and observed the men, Most were kind of emfeminent, slender, no real build, giggling, no body hair from what I could see.

For me (as a Caucasian) I think the whole story is 70% socio-economic and 30% Hollywood.

Though, why white guys (like me)  like Asian chicks is a different matter.

From what I see Middle-class-or-above Chinese girls choose Chinese males as their mate.  Middle-class-or-above Thai or Filipina chicks do the same.  They choose someone (wealthy)  from their own ethnicity, culture, country - as happens in most developed (rich) worlds.  But, most Asian countries have simply not caught up with the West economically yet (nowhere near on GPD-per-Capita yet).

So many white men, if dressed decently enough,  automatically enter an Asian bar or room with an aura of global  success.  They can, it is assumed by their birth country, be able to offer a life (for the girl and her extended family) much better than any local could provide!  I exaggerate the point to make the point, but I don't think I am far off the mark.

By being white-western, we gain bonus socio-economic status whether they are deserved or not!

In Guangzhou I saw a few girls over 25 under 30 that were teachers from the USA / Canada.  I talked with one of them and she told me there were in some kind of exchange program for teaches. One other was there to get her teaching credentials.  I would guess a majority of the non working girls are all over China to teach English.

She was hot enough, and surprisingly a pretty good session. (Although her preference was for Asian guys, preferably those with criminal records, she did appreciate a good hammering from someone better endowed than the ex).

A buddy of mine is a well known Vegas escort, who is known for being a circus fuck in the room. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and loves Asian guys-I think most of her serious boyfriends were Asian, there was a J one, a K one and a CN one.

I'm on a private single male travel board. We're all a little older now, and let's say, more content in our sexuality than we used to be. But, it's pretty unanimous the hatred the group has for American gals (many white gals in general, but we have a few who play the East Euro circuit heavy).

I agree with tonytoro, its basically the reason why we see more Caucasian with Asian girls is because there are lots of Asian girls that don't mind the opposite as long as they have money. Another thing is that caucasian seem to have a different taste in selecting asian girls (just my opinion lol dont flame me!) like when they think that asian girl is hot, We as asians would think that asian girl is only ok
