It is not a secret that Kama has been working on a second spa for a long time. I am happy to be the one of the first people to visit this new place. Here is the story.

I was really stressed at work lately and was in need of a proper massage. I was in the neighbourhood last night, so I messaged Kama to book Chloe. She is one of the few girls at Kama (or anywhere) who is a properly trained masseuse. I was one of her first clients (report here), when she only offered veggie massage. Apparently, she has greatly extended her “repertoire” now. I was eager to see her again, and to check out her new identity as a sex goddess. But they said Chloe won’t be available for another half an hour, and if I don’t mind, I can walk to her second spa and wait for Chloe there. I was sent the address, which is just 5 min down the hill from Kama.

If there is anything the Kama people are particularly good at, it is the scouting for locations. The new spa, known as Mia Spa (I guess it’s pseudo-Italian for “My Spa”), is in a building I walked past numerous times before but never know existed. Although the address is on Stanley street, its entrance (actually took me some time to find) is on a nameless back alley that connects Wellington and Stanley streets. It is a building whose only entrance looks like a back entrance, making it possibly the most hidden location in Central. As a guy who literally grew up in Central, I was amazed by the existence of such a place and by the fact that someone managed to discover it.

Discovered it they did. No wonder it took them so long to set up this gig!

The lift stopped at 4/F. Joy, the model of beauty, intelligence, health, elegance and class, was waiting at the door in her black dress and brown boots. Her eyes could light up a small Chinese city. She took my hand and showed me around her new place. It occupies the entire floor of the building. There is no lobby, only one long corridor linking 4 treatment rooms. The space they saved by removing the lobby, they used it to build more spacious rooms. One of the rooms is bigger than my living room.

This new place is obviously an answer to all the lessons they learned from Kama. Tired of walking uphill to Kama in the summer? The new place is much closer to the MTR. Embarrassed to hear other people’s moaning in Kama? The new place is fitted with solid, brick-laid, sound-proof walls. Sick of the mould on Kama’s floor and walls? The new place is fitted with beautiful terra-cotta tiles and brickworks that won’t get water-logged. Dying to pee during your session and don’t want to walk out naked in Kama? In the new place there is a toilet inside every single room. There is even washing basin inside every room, so that you can brush your teeth before seeing your favourite girl! Joy told me they even fitted in a sauna room originally, making it possibly the first walk-up massage parlour with a real sauna.

While Joy was showing me their beautifully printed menus, in walked Chloe. I like her look: not the fragile China doll type most people like, but a strongly built woman full of good health and life-force. Last time I met her, she gave me one of the strongest massages I had ever received, something my body was longing for tonight.

Joy strongly recommended the new nuru service, which they called “Mia Bella”. She said they purposely avoided using the word nuru, as it is cheapened by too many people using it without knowing what it is. Mia bella it is, madam, and you are very bella yourself. Nuru massage, when properly done, is probably the best treatment for impotence. Within seconds of the sliding and grinding, my penis was rock hard and wanting to cum. To distract myself, I tried to list all the things I have to do at work over the weekend. It didn’t work. This gel is evil. A lot of people thought nuru massage always led to full service. It didn’t matter, as this experience is far superior to sex. It was sex without sex and beyond sex. So, this is my report on the new spa called Mia. My impression of Mia is this: you have created a classical product a few years ago. It works well, but if you are given a chance to do it all over again, what would you do differently? Mia is this to Kama. This new place shows a maturation in style, an understatement, substance over gimmick, where money was spent on quality, not on appearance.

I had been saddened to hear of and experience the decline of standards at K Spa, in line with twiceAweek's Iron Law of Spa Quality (great for six to 12 months, and then it's downhill after that). Good that J is back with another crack at setting a high bar for the industry; more power to her elbow!

Am I persuaded by z's report to become a customer of Mia Spa? Well, I have to admit Chloe isn't MCOT facewise, though I'm sure she's a pro in the best sense of the word. And although I agree that nuru can be erotic if done properly, a more than 50% premium over the going rate for a body slide and manual release is too rich for my blood. (I fear that J is also leading the way in price inflation for other establishments, despite the likelihood that they will fall way short of Kama's standards).

But then, I must admit I have never really been part of Kama's target market segment. If only I was a billionaire; I would make Joy's place my living room.

fwiw i booked lisa. she was great... really awesome massage, cute, super playful and a great personally (i speak mandarin however). couple things bugged me though - finished 20 mins early and charged me 1400 which is the mia bella service. when i said she didn't use gel, she said it's only done in certain rooms . also i've been to kama a million times and always pay 1200 and couldn't see any difference in service..... but i wasn't gonna argue over $200 as i was generally happy with her...

So Mia Spa is basically Kama spa. How do we make bookings to visit Mia? Is it through kama wechat? Also, is this the same Joy that use to work at Kama? Cause if it is i love to visit her again....

I kinda remember when they first started it was something like 600 or 800 including tips, am I correct ?

From what I understand from the Mamasan (not Joy anymore), the prices of the packages stay the same as it was.

As far as I can remember, Kama hasn't changed their prices since the day they opened. A regular HJ massage is $700 with no tip expected. This is what I still pay now. People may get an illusion that the prices have gone up because bros here, myself included, tend to write reports on the more expensive packages. It is understandable because the more expensive packages are more "eventful" and therefore have more to write about. In fact, my observation is the more expensive packages are actually more popular, especially with the locals. I guess their general mentality is: to do the cheap package I can go anywhere; since I am at Kama I might as well try the most expensive service.
I haven't been back to Mia since my first visit. But at least at that time, the prices at Mia were exactly the same as those at Kama. I think they just copied and pasted the menu.
