@Susanlixxx yup, not kidding. I am not 100% sure the rationale behind the decision or how brothel licensing works in Singapore. Suspect it has to do with some local cultural / ethnic sensitivity given the world we live in today. I found multiple references to this information and the most authoritative one is from Project X which is a local non-profit that serves workers in the sex industry in Singapore (
https://theprojectx.org/faq/) I did a pretty extensive search and while most of Singapore is online (including rules and regulations, etc from state-related sources), I could not find anything "official" from the state on how brothels and Geyland work!
Singapore is really a land of contradictions if you ask me ... one the one hand squeaky clean image ... on the other designated zones like Geylang where brothels line the streets with clearly marked numbers and signs! That said, not for me to ask questions, just enjoy while staying within the OB markers!
