You all know Japanese idol groups : teens with sexy clothes singing shitty music... Ok, I can understand some teens can like this music, and that there's a market for it.

But I just discovered another group a bit more mature and adult : SDN48

Their music is worse than anything, you can check this music video, it's terrible. Thus, it's crazy to see they have an audience to go to their concerts and buy their album. How can they sell music if they are so sex oriented, without making real sex or real music.

Japanese are so open about sex and nudity, but yet they are so traditional... contradiction at it's best. One of the things that I still do not understand is why do they have to censor the privates when porn industry is legal...

And why all the other parts of sex can be practiced but not penetration....

As I understand it as explained by a Japanese friend of mine - its the very "macho" environment of Japanese society and Politics that dictates the law regarding sexual activity.

The Japanese Diet had long ago passed those laws when it was an all-male enclave (it still is so male dominated even today!) and the way they figured it is that its OK for females to "service" males; and thus OK for gals to give Blow Jobs to guys (in those days, NO self respecting Japanese Man would even consider giving DATY to females!), but no FS is allowed (nor desireable) as it involves MUTUAL enjoyment.

Now, I of course have no idea if this is correct or not...but made sense to me when explained!

As much as this might provide slight insight, the following is in jest and written with my tongue firmly placed against my cheek.

I'm a bit of a history nut... I like to know, but don't have the patience to investigate. Haha. Americans and Japanese are exact opposites of the samecoin. Americans talk about freedomm and liberty, but have in fact been rather prudish. European magazines allow for nudity, but American mags donot. More books are  burnedand banned in the US tthe nanny other western, Democratic country.  The Japanese on the other hand, talk about being proper, and traditions, and conservatism, but are a nation of pervs. Haha

The Japanese  have been playing with sex since at least the 1600.  There is evidence of cock rings and condoms since that time period. This is what I've found. Chances are, it goes back even further. The history of geishas is also well documented. While historically, geishas didn't offer sex, it was an eventuality that some derivative of this art became corrupted.
With this kind of history, is it a wonder that the Japanese have sexually evolved?
That being said, the Japanese also hold tradition and courtesy in high regard. It's a big part of their development. Yes, things are changing, but don't forget that up until a generation ago, a high percentage of employees would be considered lifers. Failure and loss of respect often led to suicide. Remind anyone of seppuku and the samurai way? But the expectation of adhering to traditions, manners, and the such are so firm that we'll... Guesswhat happens when yyou're too strict bringing up your kids. They either capitulate, or rebel. Couple that with the stress of living up to those expectations.... You'll also get people who snap....
So put sexually evolved along with people rebelling and  snapping.... You end with people who test and push boundaries.
As for the censorship..it's actually not a law. Something about people preferring it.... Something about it being more elegant. Can't remember details. Sorry....
