Had PM'ed the OP to find the location and apparently one of the shops around the corner (Allen & E, Broadway) I had frequented had closed recently due to LE activity.  Originally thought it was for prostitution but upon closer inspection think the US Mashals shut down the joint because they had skipped paying rent or some similar reason.  Too bad, the place was fairly new, spacious and hiding in plain sight!!!

I live in NY and it is indeed worrying. What a waste of police time and public resources. It is a very puritan and moralistic country. "The land of the free", what a freaking joke. The level of freedom in just about every other western country is much higher.  Law enforcement in the US is unduly harsh.

I once met a retired New York Police office who went to Chang Ping, HK, China and maybe Thailand for mongering. He was a street cop or bet cop.  It was long ago, before the "Great Yandan of 2014" in China.

  
I think he said was he a single Caucasian guy.  He was then an actor and gave me his business card.  He told me the majority of the  police offices don't care about about sex vice in NY. It's only when things get out hand or somebody complains the police has to act.


He said he would never do this kind of stuff in New York or the USA.  There's too much at risk.

My 2 cents.
1. You always have to ask the other person on the other line "are your a cop?" This sole question force them to say yes or just hang up on u. And if u get it recorded or on sms...  even better to sue their ass because they didn't follow that under cover rule... (some one correct me if I am wrong)

Yes I agree, it is more of a Asian platform, Wechat.  It looks like they were specifically targeting Asian.

If you find a working girl claims she is just arrived from China on Wechat, you should ask many questions.

Try talking to them in Chinese and ask them like were their from and what part of China.  

If she might undercover Chinese cop. They usually know far less Chinese,
Cantonese or Mandarin.  For example  how to speak read and write in Chinese.

Also they are usually less knowledgeable about their cultural and the old country but overall, this

might NOT always be the case.

The things I keep hearing is prostitution brings other bad elements. For example, crime, money laundering, STD,
human trafficking,  and drugs.  

Prostitutes have one of the highest murder rates. Even Hong Kong has its share of working girls being murdered.   
I was told a group of girls, street walkers, were all drug addicts and to stay away from them.

Yes, that is the reality of America.  In the past, they would only arrest the WG's and more recently there has been a shift to the Johns.  At one point, there was a campaign to "posterize" the Johns.  Anyways, the weeks leading to any election (currently the Midterm elections) is relatively more dangerous for all.

-24 hour 7-11's bring crime yet they are legal.
-Casino's / Horse race tracks bring money laundering yet they are legal.
-Bar pickups bring STD yet this is legal.
-Hollywood stars and the rich bring human trafficking for home, child and yard care.
-Doctors over-prescribe opioids yet that is legal.  


IMHO police would rather go after regular Joes looking for fun (low risk) than after professional criminals who have weapons (high risk).

In my city, crime is rampant in the evenings and the police are nowhere to be found. But in the mornings,  e.g. 5 AM on a Sunday morning, they are out ticketing people who might be speeding or making some other  minor traffic infraction on the way to church or work.

Amazing that a mans life, career and family can be ruined over doing something that is coded into his DNA (boinking women).
