My brother (a colonel) went to Serbia and he told me of some stories. One in particular I remember vividly to this day is one where soldiers cut a pregnant woman womb to take her baby out and kill it in front of her then push her off a bridge. This all happened in front of her husband and children. Of course they raped her first. ........ When you see/hear/read about the horrors happening in the world, first there is disbelief then nausea, then a sort of mental anesthesia and finally all that is left is a scar you don't want to look at. It is really hard to conceive some people can act like that, even during war.

But what is so disturbing about this female circumcision thing is that it is a long-standing cultural tradition that is considered the right thing to do for the girl. These are parents mutilating their own children.

Less messy, you tend to pop right into the designed reservoir without your skin smearing it all over the condom.

Religion and testosterone have allot to answer for. Being an Atheist i think all religion is silly but most of it is harmless. Not Islam, its just plan wrong.

A funny side note, a few girls get curious as the peel back the skin and see the "spikes" at the bottom the crown, I guess mine's are especially noticeable, lucky them

I don't think we should blame any religion. Female circumcision is due to culture more than religion. As for male circumcision,
Jews also circumcise their children for religious reasons. I think it's wrong to mutilate any child for any reason other than
medical. If someone wants to be circumcised for religious or cultural reasons, they should wait until they reach a legal age of
consent. Then at least they can make their own decision. What kind of a god would want children to be mutiltaed, what
are there parents thinking? It just boggles the mind.

No, Its just one part of a religion that at it base is flawed. Judging by your post you completely agree with my view. People should have a choice. In Islam its simply not offered to women. Sure, The same was true with the Catholic based religions in the past but most of the variants are modernizing. Not true with Islam.

In any case male circumcision doesn't hold a candle to how truly horrendous FGM is. They just are beyond comparison.
