I've been trying to access the sex141.com site for the past few days but appraently it's under upgrading? When will the website be up again?? Can the moderator shed some light? Hope that it can be up soon as I'll be coming over to Hong Konh on 19 June 2007 and would like to try some of the 141 gals!

(06/16/2007)  (Apple Daily)  Yesterday, Hong Kong police raided 22 locations and arrested 16 persons.  Among these 16 persons were 11 men and 1 woman associated with the websites.  The police took away 14 computers and 9 servers as evidence.  Most of the websites are believed to be operated by the 14K triad gang.

The websites were shut down because they were advertising for the single-apartment prostitutes.  Hong Kong sticks to the rule of law.  It is illegal to run a multi-person brothel, but there is no law against one prostitute operating from one apartment.  Therefore, the practice is for the operator to rent an apartment and partition it into many smaller unconnected units (known as the abattoirs), one per prostitute, for about HK$300 to HK$400 per day.  If the operator is smart, he/she will have no business relationship other than landlord-renter with the prostitutes.  In this case, the four other arrested individuals actually controlled the prostitutes.  In Hong Kong, it is illegal to profit from the prostitute activities of others, and this is why the 4 were arrested.

Once a single-apartment prostitute is set up, she needs to advertise for clients.  This is where the websites come in.  The websites are registered and hosted out of Hong Kong and the websites are likely to be beyond the reach of Hong Kong law.  However, the websites need to have staff physically present to operate, including photographers to take photographs of the prostitutes and sales people to visit the prostitutes and make the sales pitch.  Each prostitute pays HK$600 to HK$1,000 per month for the listing.  If there are 1,000 prositutes, then the monthly revenue could be as much as HK$1 million per month.  However, the police takes the view that the websites are arguably profitting from the prostitute activities of others, and this is why the 12 people were arrested.   In the present case, the evidence was collected by female undercover police officers who pretended to be single-apartment prostitutes and asked to be listed at the websites.

I was worried about the site being down over the last few days... but at least the forum is back online now! Let's hope the site will be back eventually...

Based on the article, it is unlikely the sites advertising girls will be back too quickly.  At least based on their recent formats.

So who was it that wanted to buy the site?    Doesn't seem such a good idea now!!

create a profile for each shareholder, highlighting the skills

must be the smallest private company in Hongkong with the largest number of shareholders
