so I havent posted in a long time sadly because I have gotton back to "real life" just doing the work and grind 9-5 back home in America. i just havent been able to afford to travel but I want to get back to Macau and Bangkok so bad. I wish to make traveling being able to travel there often my "real life." I got girls on wechat and Line always hitting me up. I know they are just trying to get paid but stilll.



the reason for this post is there are obviously quite a few members who are able to travel often via their Job it seems. so I guess my question is what do you do that enables you to travel so often?

my dream job would be a career that would send me to Macau, hong kong , or Bangkok preferrably. Literally that is the dream for me. to have a job in america that requires frequent travel to Bangkok. I know they exist.

I guess the point of this post is to gather information from others to see how I can try to change my career path to better accomodate this lifestyle.

Become a buyer is the Holy grail since vendors will do anything to get your business.  Next is engineering/developer ( that's me) , own your own trading company, designer, corp sales to participate in trade shows. Good luck

It is expensive for US based companies to send staff overseas. It is cheaper for them to liaise with either their Asian branches or Asian agents. The ones who get sent are very senior staff, GM-rank and above and have to go because face-to-face interaction is necessary for the purpose of the trip.

So if you want to travel a lot in Asia, it is better if you can relocate yourself to Asia. Once you are based in Asia, it is so easy and cheap to travel to the places you desire to go.

Find a global business. I have contacts in Asia and I travel as a business consultant. I attend conferences in Asia as well.

Bottom line is, it isn't easy, but the work has its rewards.

Perhaps a role as a purchasing manager who sources from China.
Often these guys need to visit suppliers for auditing purposes.
